So it was the worst kept secret of 2012 (so far) but Amanda finally revealed her secret Melbourne plans... officially!

So very very excited at the prospect of new music... and a properly recorded version of The Bed Song!!!!

That cover was the first thing I've heard by AFP for a long time that I really, really enjoyed, so I'm pretty excited!

if a song gets recorded and is never released and is forgotten and on a harddrive for ten years... does it still make a sound?

i would have been more excited if it weren't for the fact that it's all songs less than three years old, but there are some that i am still happy about; bed song, trout-heart replica, dear old house, judy blume, massachusetts avenue, maybe even gaga palmer madonna?. also some i really have no desire to hear again; given it all away, wallet, all the people you will never be (are these warrior within, losing song, and bottom feeder?), dont call me fucking gay man (did she say this was finished though? i can't remember). and if the australia album is fair game, dr. oz sounded great with a band. and i'm trusting whoever it was that mentioned 'do it with a rockstar' and anticipating that one too.

i really hope that this is a double album, or that if all 20+ of the songs are recorded (which would be really really great please) that the others can come out as an alternate album or something. there were WAY too many really AMAZING songs that missed their chance with wkap.

i'm not completely indifferent and will probably get more excited when the release is nearer, but i've definitely learned the hard way not to get too invested.

This is actually the first Amanda-related thing I've cared about in a long while. But because I've lost interest in Amanda in general, I really won't be disappointed if I don't like this album.

just have to say i really love what i have heard of the new songs. VERY different but awesome  i already have a favourite

i know there are people who won't like them, but meh. their loss.

One of the main reasons I'm excited for this is because I haven't heard many of the new songs Amanda's been playing.
That's also why I hope the album doesn't include Trout Heart Replica, Dear old house or anything that's been recorded so long ago live. I think that's what happened with WKAP, a lot of the people had heard the songs looong before (Ampersand and Point of it all in particular).

I would like Judy Blume to make it on there though.

i'd rather have a finished version of a good song rather than take a chance on a new one that probably is not as good. i hope we at least get a demo or uhq live recording.

I think the live recording we have of it is pretty damn good quality but it wouldn't hurt to hear a demo of course.
