Lots of good info on the new album in MTV Hive's interview with A:

including this choice quote: "I put down the ukulele for this record, and picked up a Moog"

check it:

Any new ukuleles? Any new instruments on this album that you’ve never had before?

I put down the ukulele for this record, and picked up a Moog. There’s a ton of instruments that won’t sound very familiar — full horn sections, full string sections, lots and lots of synth and a real shocker for Amanda Palmer fans: SLIDE GUITAR. Trust me, it sounds incredible.

prepaid cards. u can get them at grocery stores and shit.

thanks for the tip!

anyway, a good friend of mine was willing to let me use his credit card. now i have a question to team Amanda:
Will my package be automatically shipped to the billing address (which is where my friend lives) or will I be asked for a shipping address later?

You will be able to have your package shipped anywhere you'd like, it can be the same address you want to bill to or it can be different - we don't have access to your amazon account so here's what to do:

Once the Kickstarter project closes, we'll be emailing out a "survey" via Kickstarter that'll have questions such as "Where would you like your merchandise shipped?" and that will be the address used to send you your swag. Keep in mind that the Kickstarter will be wrapping up in about four weeks time and the CD won't be shipping 'till around September, so if you plan on moving or will have a different address if you attend school etc. keep this time frame in mind when you fill out your shipping address!
I'll be moving into a student house mid-September. Is it worth just putting my student address down, since I'm in the UK even if they ship the first week in September, it'll probably still take until that point to get to me? And when the album comes out, I will probably cry if it arrives at my home-house and I have to wait for my parents to forward it D:

One of the tracks, “The Bed Song,” is hands down the best song I’ve ever written. And enough of my friends have agreed with me that I don’t think I’m deluded. That’s a solo piano tune

The download code will be emailed to you, so no matter what mailing address you use, you'll still be able to listen to the album.

My 2 cents - I think you'll be fine using with your student address. Wait for the KS to end and fill out the survey, look for info on the expected dates the merch will ship, and if there's a field for notes, specify your situation. If you are really concerned that the package may arrive to student housing before you're there, you can shoot an email to Eric (or use the Kickstarter email/contact system to Amanda's project) when the KS ends and he'll help sort you out.

Also, if you fear there's a chance that your student housing  won't accept your mail, and you're 100% sure your parents will accept it... it may just be worth the wait to have your parents safe guard your package.

We're renting an actual house, so there will be no problem with it being delivered (plus, I guess, if it gets there before I do, nobody else is living there so it'll just sit on the doormat. But again then we have the issue of the CD arriving somewhere I am not ;) )

At some train stations in Berlin, there are grand video screens which tell you the latest news in politics, movies, music, ...
And now a friend just told me that today they reported about Amanda's new record and the Kickstarter project O0
A good way to reach people, because about everybody reads these reports, when they're waiting for the train. :)

both a day (or so) old:

1) afp kickstarter story on Austrian news site:

http://news.orf.at/stories/2118280/2118281

2) tweet by kate miller-heidke:

"I dreamed my mother gave Amanda Palmer $20000 towards her recording, in exchange for a home concert. Mum was crying with joy as she told me."

https://twitter.com/#!/kmillerheidke/status/200097253770268672

 ;D

Edit: oops the story is already a week old!

I think she originally said there were about 20-ish songs, and probably up to 15 would make it.

I have no idea, but this sounds like the longest AFP album ever anyway, which excites me. Well, it might not contain 8-minute songs like some of the DD ones, but still.

i'm pretty sure she said 15 songs were recorded for the album, and then she was discussing trying to fit them all (those 15). so i'd assume she just means the standard album will have 15.

fuck yeah. although i dunno what this means for the bonus tracks/b-sides.
