Yesterday was Pi Day!

...the big Pi Day will be in 2015 - 3/14/15.   :D
Remember that many 'Boxers are outside the United States... For such folk as that,
Pi Day won't be until the end of April.

I'm not sure if you know that April has 30 days.
shhhhhhhhh!

someone on twitter offered a bitcoin to anyone that would hold up a "Vaccinate your Kids" sign behind Jenny McCarthy.  I hope it will be a good year.

Easter is here! I am not a big fan of Easter, especially that part when women get beaten by a wooden stick (that is a Czech tradition), which is tomorrow.
Do you celebrate Easter? What do you do? Do you eat lamb?

please explain, I have not even a vague notion of the why behind such a tradition.

Also, it depends on most families preference, most enjoy ham or turkey. Lamb is less popular in the states because most don't know how to properly prepare it and it also costs more per pound than either one of the former proteins mentioned.

The beating tradition: on Easter Monday men spank women with a special stick made of willow rods and get coloured eggs in exchange. It is a ritual that is meant to assure health and fertility. In some regions men also throw cold water on women. Lovely, right? I really detest it.

Happy Easter, guys!

1. My family? No.
2. On friday, catholic (any branch) families eat "white meat", generally, fish. Actually, I think they eat fish meat until monday. Here in Brazil, we eat chocolate eggs / chocolate in general. Religious catholic people go to church and celebrate Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. Roman Catholic people usually go to cities like Nossa Senhora de Aparecida and other cities that celebrates or have festivals (like Ouro Preto. Ouro Preto being the city, not the festival).  I can't think of anything else.
3. Some families probably do, but lamb is an expensive meat here, not very traditional.

It is very interesting to read your answers, thanks spider and sangre! I am surprised that lamb is not traditional in other parts of the world. Maybe it is an european thing? It is quite pricey here too which is why most people eat it only during Easter.
