The good one, or the American one?

I actually prefer the American one (I'm a traitor to my country, I know).  Although, I didn't think it was viewed unfavourably, even when compared with the original?  Whenever I've seen comparisons - whether official reviews or just people chatting - the general consensus always seemed to be that they're both good and it's just personal taste that determines which you like more?

For me, while I can recognise the genius of the original, it was a little bit *too* cringeworthy for my own tastes - I found myself switching channels every few minutes in an "I can't watch!" kind of way.  The US version I laugh out loud at more often.
