Hey guys! I saw you all! Great outfits and such! It was nice to meet you, even if it was just for a moment, Tamora. O0

I had a great time. It was an awesome show! Potentially the best Dolls show I've ever been to, and that's saying something because it's pretty hard to top the October 2006 SF shows. I passed out all 400 lollipops and 150 travel suggestions, and I am very sore today. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves too!

I think that it was very different from the 2006 shows... they are both fantastic, but just different...

I hope I can be in the front row someday at a Dolls show. As usual when I go to concerts, I got stuck behind a very tall guy. And he wasn't even into the music; just standing there like a stone-faced statue. I was like, "Get the hell out of here if you're not enjoying yourself, or at least let this short girl stand in front of you!"
lol.

OMG... I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THE DRESDEN DOLLS FOR YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO SEE THEM LIVE...THAT IS.... UNTIL LAST NIGHT!!!!

IT WAS SO AWESOME... EVERYTHING ABOUT IT... AND I WAS SUPRISED WHEN THEY DID A SECOND ENCORE.

EVERYONE WHO WAS ON STAGE WAS AMAZING AND FUNNY.

I HAD THE GREATEST TIME LAST NIGHT (even though I added an hour to my 2 hour drive on the way there because I went in the wrong direction in the beginning lol ... I'm no good with directions... and the fact that it took me a half hour just to find my way out of SF and onto the freeway/highway to go home haha)

I WAS AMAZED BY THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE... IT WAS JUST A GREAT FEELING SEEING THEM LIVE... BECAUSE AS WE ALL KNOW... THEIR MUSIC HAS INSPIRED AND GOTTEN A LOT OF PEOPLE THROUGH HARD TIMES.

VERMILLION LIES WAS SO FUN AS WELL... I BOUGHT BOTH OF THEIR CD'S AFTER THE SHOW.

I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABOUT THE SECOND ROW FROM THE STAGE.... IT WAS SO CROWDED... BUT SO WORTH IT haha

I LOVED THE SONG CHOICES AND HOW FUN EVERYONE WAS...EVEN THE AUDIENCE.  I MET AND TALKED WITH A BUNCH OF NICE PEOPLE AND WAS REALLY SUPRISED BY HOW NICE EVERYONE WAS.  IT WAS LIKE EVERYONE THERE THAT NIGHT HAD KNOWN EACH OTHER AND WERE FRIENDS.  IT WAS SO GREAT AND MADE FOR A REALLY WONDERFUL NIGHT... IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS AT A CONCERT... IT WAS MUCH MORE THAN THAT.... THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT.... IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND I HOPE FOR ANOTHER.

BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE.

(...in a three way tie, but one was spent with the friend who INTRODUCED me to DD music, and hearing 'The Jeep Song' for the first time, and the other was spent seeing "A Chorus Line" on Broadway, fourth row, dead center.)

IT WAS SO AMAZING!

Thank you so much!  Thank you EVERYONE for making my first Dresden Dolls concert a truly amazing experience.  Everything from Amanda Palmer walking up before the show and saying my chair was awesome (I was in shock for a moment before saying "Gie... ah... d- did you know that you're Amanda Palmer?") to hugging Brian Viglione (hottest musical prodigy ever) to being silly with the audience and my fellow brigaders.  Not to mention running away from the people on stilts. :)

Really, on my way home I was alternating my mezzo voice between "Global Warming" and "Night Reconnaissance" and "I Could Have Danced All Night".  The last one was just because I was totally on an ElizaDoolittle-sized high after the concert.  It was amazing.

Did anyone else feel like they were practically flying when they played "Ultima Esperanza"?  SO beautiful...

And I swear, besides all of the weird things I was saying, I neither was nor am high.  Though it was so insanely wonderful, I'm afraid I might've been and it was all actually a shroom-induced hallucination.

Thank you everyone.
I love you all.

Two things: Firstly, how early did you have to get there to be able to run into Amanda and Brian?! It definitely didn't help just getting to the venue an hour before the doors opened. lol. Someday I am going to meet them...I swear by it. And secondly... sure you are/were high! High on life, dammit! :coolsmiley:

It was inside, about 10 minutes before doors.  Right by the stage.  It was awesome. :)  And I hugged them when I got the photo after the show... they were signing autographs.

And yes, I suppose I was.  And even though I didn't wanna fuck the experience up by getting so high that I wouldn't even remember the concert the next morning... I suddenly can't stop wondering what that concert would be like n shrooms. XD

Sorry.  Been around two potheads and a joker all day.

Sure! I did that at Sea of Dreams on New Year's 2005-2006. It's deeply gratifying to pass out a ton of lollipops. People just light up, even the people who don't want one smile at you. Besides, they were $6 for 200. That was a lot of smiling people for $12.

Did you get travel suggestions too?

To those that didn't see them, the little fliers I made up said:

"Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God. --Bokonon

Here is your travel suggestion for today:"

The suggestions were everything from "luau" to "otters!" to a number of websites, mostly the websites for really awesome artists and photographers (I looked through my art bookmarks on del.icio.us - JennyBirdArt.com and Bradisdrab.com being two of the ones I remember - check them out, they're awesome).

For those who don't know, Bokoninism is the fictional religion in a Kurt Vonnegut book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokononism

I have no idea if people kept the fliers, did anything with them, actually went to any of the websites... but I like to hope that someone liked them. The only real comment I got was from some very drunk guy who decided that since the word God was on there that I must have been a Christian fundamentalist (buh?!) even after I said several times that I was not. He kinda followed me around for a while trying to get me to admit I was a Christian fundamentalist. I kinda hid out from him for a little while until he thankfully left.

Hopefully he was the only one with such a drastically mistaken impression. (Did I *look* like a Christian fundamentalist?!)

Were you the french-speaking girl in the chair? You were great.

Yes I was indeed said girl in said chair.  It was fun.  And weird. :)  Never done that before, so I'm not quite sure how it went, but I'm pleased, at least.  I had a good time.

And thank you.
