Friend of mine mentioned them to me and I was intrigued. I knew of the songs Girl Anachronism and Coin Operated Boy from friends, but that was my extent of knowledge on the dolls. After my friend had mentioned them I downloaded a few songs and loved them all. Sing, Jeep Song, and Shores of California are on the top of my play list these days.

I wish I had heard of them or their music earlier, but I saw them open for Panic! last year, and they were definitely better than Panic!. Since then I've been hooked and they're now my 2nd favorite band...

late '02, someone mentioned they were going to go drive 3hrs to see this band twice in the same weekend.   Any time someone I know is that interested in a band, I'm instantly curious enough.   I downloaded the 4 whole tracks that were on the website at the time, listened to them a whole bunch and found out they were coming to Atlanta in early '03, and after I saw the show I was completely and totally hooked.   (not that there was much of a doubt I guess...)

I started listening to them about four years ago when my college radio played coin operated boy.  I looked up a few other tracks to listen to (all live versions) and I immediately became hooked.  I have only been able to see them once, unfortunately.  I did get to see Humanwine when they came to Chicago, and got a bit of my Brian fix.

I started listening to the Dolls, like, a year ago.  I mostly joined because Brittany was on here, but I'm addicted to the 'box.

It all started with kids from the doghouse and it grew on me.

I was going to lollapalooza, last year. and was checking out all the artists I hadn't heard yet. i heard one song and was intrigued. Ended up seeing amanda at Fuck the Back Row and was eternally smitten after that.

i post at another messageboard, and once a year a bunch of us all meet up with each other for a week of elbowy nerd fun. we also make a compilation CD by contributing one or two songs each and getting one of the more artistically inclined folks to draw a nice cover for it. anyway, 3 years ago, one of my friends contributed "missed me" to the comp, and within a week i bought S/T. it was one of the best albums i had ever heard, and i've been a huge fan ever since.
