is that facebook group for edinburg then? I think we could try for a London one... Anyone has any info on the one that's mentioned in one of the comments? (I think facebook is kind of terrible to organise large groups of people).
That girl never replied again, and I sent her a direct message as soon as she posted that, and she hasn't got back to me.

That group was intended as a general UK one, but I'm wondering whether it's worth starting a new one for people that are definitely up for London? I would say facebook is quite convenient, as a lot of people use it on a daily basis so it is reasonably easy to get hold of most people (I know there are exceptions who don't have it, or have it but don't check it often)

Ok guys. Let's get this together. I woulld do a facebook page specifically for London, but I'm in Duublin for the week & my mobile broadband isn't working & I can't do anything useful from BlackBerry.

So can someone be awesome and step up to the plate to:

1. Create a Facebook event where people can RSVP. When we hit 50 people at £60 each, we close RSVPs to the event.

2. Start accepting money to their PayPal or bank account. Yes, lots of trust needed for this. But it's the only way.

3. You get your place on the FB event confirmed when you email a screenshot confirmation of your money transfer to the person collecting the money.

4. We organise dates etc later. Again, it's a risk but perhaps if we all agree sometime in Spring 2013, which gives lots of time for organising.

Fly, my pretties!

you are right, I was a bit drastic in my frustation to find any information on that group.

as I said, I'm good for offering the place and even putting down the initial payment (through would be good to make sure about this other london party to see if there will be enough interest for both, if both happen).

Before putting down any money, I put forward the quetion again, what happens if there is no agreeable date between everyone? Especially if we pool the money before deciding on a date, it would suck if someone is unable to make it.

And also, what is going to happen with all the physical merch that is offered along with the gig? (CD/vinyl/art book/bed song book/art show entrance)

As long as it's not this summer, I'm totally in!
Could probably get three of my friends to participate as well. I'm not sure if it's been said before and if it has I apologize: has anyone created the facebook group officially or are we joining the UK one?

are dates not mostly up to Amanda?
I got a tweet back from Eric Sussman saying dates for uk would most likely be June/later in the autumn.

We had a good plan for physical merch: pass the parcel!

Chloe, that link isn't working for me? :/

Also, I think what people were suggesting was an event page, rather than a group?

Is there any way you can stop people joining after it reaches 50? 'Cause I think that's the main thing.

(Also, thanks for setting it up!)

Even if it is up to Amanda, what happens if the date Amanda is available is not viable for people who have paid?

Thank you for setting up the facebook event :)

I don't think there's any way to stop at a certain number of people (I might be wrong) but in that case you might want to make it invite-only.

Could they not just 'sell' their place to someone else who was able to make that date?
