Kind of stunned that this didn't already get started.

Like the others, would be down for a 50 people / $100 per person house party fund. WHO ELSE IS GAME

I'm game, and I might have a location. We have a pretty big garden, piano, BBQ, etc, but we're out in Walnut Creek/Concord. We're under 10 minutes from a BART station, but we are still about 30 minutes east of Oakland/Berkeley.

Anyone have any ideas?

I AM TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY GAME. I can't host, I have a wee teeny place but I can

a) Provide $100 to help the cause
b) Volunteer to play shuttle for a set amount of time to bring in kids from the BART of whatever
c) Bake like a fiend
d) Help with the logistics of this epic art love fest (in real life I'm an event coordinator).

What do we need to get this started/raise awareness/raise funds? My fella and I were laughing just last night about how we should start a Kickstarter to fund the SF Amanda House Party Gift on her Kickstarter.

Thoughts? I can't wrangle this WHOLE burrito but I can certainly help move it along if some other folks help.

For raising awareness: Perhaps something on Facebook? I saw that some of the tweets for other cities are point to groups there. For funds: I looked in a couple of the other forum posts and some people have suggested to have people pay into a PayPal account individually and then make the $5000 payment out of that account. That seems to make sense.

As to my location, we're about ten minutes drive or 20-25 minute bike ride north of either the Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill BART stations (on the Pittsburg/Baypoint Line). For driving we're about 40 minutes (sans traffic) from Downtown SF and 25 minutes from Oakland/Berkeley. We're also about an hour from San Jose.

We have a nice garden that has a (at least by Bay Area standards) large paved patio and large grassy area, and as I said we do have a real piano. If people think it sounds like a good option I can discuss it with my parents to make sure they're fine with it, but that shouldn't be a problem. We just have to reassure them that AFP fans are respectful, which obviously we would be ;-)

i live in pleasant hill, by a BART station. i'm willing to help shuttle people around and set up and bake and what not. i live at home with parents, so i wouldn't be able to do it here.

otherwise i'm down to help out anyway i can.

I just tooled around trying to create a Facebook group for this, but I can't figure it out with my iPhone (my only connection to the Internet right now). I think we could spread the word a lot better once we get a group going. I tried!

Sarah (Higgs)'s place sounds great. Being near BART, it is ideal. I just want to verify that it has everything we would need for Amanda's sake.

As someone who works for a company that makes music videos, it is possible that we could throw this party at my work, which is a house in and of itself in San Francisco. We have a full professional sound and lighting rig. We might even have a keyboard! AND we have professional video equipment. It's possible we could throw a party AND film the whole shebang.
