@Charlie - as a feminist, I'm against the concept of cunt-punting. As your friend, I say go for it.

@topic - I have two exams tomorrow and am royally screwed. I mean really, one's Greek which should be passable, but the other's Theological Thinking which frankly I am royally screwed on. Gah :'(

I have an exam tomorrow. It's Classical Sociological Theory. Do I know anything? No. Do I give a fuck? No.

But it'd still be nice to pass.

I've also been doing not quite as well this year, but I blame the lads for that haha. It wasn't unusual for me to start a bunch of essays the night before they're all due. Same with studying, the last 3 exams I took, I started studying the night before and I did pretty good on them all (I think...results not out yet)

I failed Tort law.  Well, the essay I wrote for it.  I have to get at least half marks in my exam to pass the module for the year or I have to come back in the summer and resubmit.
I have an appt next week with my lecturer, and can't wait for her to explain how I went wrong.  She told us that the case of Caparo was the right one to focus on and that we should follow it.  So I did.  In that case was established the 3-stage-test for establishing a successful claim of negligence.  So of course we who did the problem question followed the 3 stage test.  Sounds reasonable, no?  No. She says that Caparo is right, the three stage test isn't.  She didn't tell us this before we wrote the essay, but it still sounds fucking stupid to mark us down for following a case we were told was right!

A large proportion of us who did the problem question failed it for this reason.  The one golden rule we were taught was that there is no RIGHT approach, so long as you back up your argument with case law and build a good case.  Which I did.  So I don't see why her preconceived ideas of what the 'right' approach is should have us all fail.
Maybe she just wants to see who's going to appeal the ruling?

Having L leave, as mentioned before. Also, realising just how shit this summer is going to be. I mean, I know I'm really lucky to have everything and everyone I do, but seriously. No internet, no real TV, some movies but no friends here. Blergh

While $20 an hour could be lots worse, I was under the impression that you were at your usual employment.
...and at least you didn't climb up on a ladder, feel the ladder start to slip, and catch yourself on... oops, that's a
wasp nest.....  (My brother did.  He paints houses for a living, and he's got lots of happy stories like that.)

yeah, i don't animal-wrangle.  i spot check (i'd ask your brother how one misses a wasp's nest big enough to catch hold of), and if one see giant clusters of hostile animals living there, we inform the owner to call us after they have exterminated.  most wasps clusters down here hang out in barns and stuff; if they are seen forming on a house (especially one that can afford to hire painters), they are usually eradicated (liability, you see).  of course, there are also things to worry about like attics full of bats or possums living in one's living room or whatever.

i also don't set up the ladder/scaffolding.  it's not my company, i'm helping out a friend i used to build sets, and later destroy them with...besides, most of the work is interior.  part of my eave-dangling was just holding the ladder; i don't paint well with heights.

^ It involves reaching up to grab an overhang, then feeling the crunch on the other side.

wasps must be weird up north.  they build dangling paper nests here on the undersides of things that look like tiny honeycombs, all the way to giant three-foot-in-diameter paper pinatas of death.  even the small ones are pretty visible, though.

a hornet's nest, on the other hand, clings flat to the wall sort of.  i'd rather run from wasps than hornets.  really, i'd rather stay in the air conditioning and paint the bathroom.
