My code is broken and I have a meeting tomorrow morning and I have to fix it but I don't know how :-\. Only one thing can save me now, the Tron Legacy soundtrack.

Code in which language? I may help you.

FORTRAN 90/95

I'm trying to update the code for better accuracy by turning my double precisions into real(kind=dp) where dp = SELECTED_REAL_KIND(16,99)

For some reason a handful of my arrays don't like this and I get "Error: Incompatible ranks 0 and 2 in assignment at (1)"

Any ideas? thanks

My brother is watching 'Ancient Aliens', I greatly dislike that show, everything they point out something historically interesting, they toss in how it had to be Aliens and it drives me mad...I even got a headache.

I never worked nor studied Fortran, so I cant help much. There used to be a user here who would probably help you, but he left the board.

But I'd ask you to see if there isn't any setting to the arrays that would cause any kind of data type conflict.

History Channel used to be a nice TV channel. Nowadays, is basically reality shows and cheap conspiracy theorists talking about their bad trips (or that is how Ancient Aliens sounds like).

You're too generous...  Even when they had more "history", they got a lot of it wrong.  My particular
personal peeve is when they tell some 20th Century story (usually World War 2), and illustrate it with
period motion-picture footage... and ALWAYS manage to find the wrong footage - wrong army, wrong
kind of plane, wrong bridge...  MAPS OF THE WRONG COUNTRIES...

that sounds like basically any history tv documentary that gets broadcasted... at most, they are able to give you some vague ideas...but if you know a little bit more on a subject they mostly are ridiculous. (although i must admit, wrong maps are a whole new category) i think your expectations might be too high ;)

I'm sure I'll figure it out, but not tonight, I feel like my brain is melting.

Hehehe. Never noticed maps of the wrong countries, or never made the association.

Ask Stack Overflow

Stack overflow rules. I managed to not only solve the problem but made my code run even better. I'm feeling a little better about the meeting now! phew.

Stack Overflow is really good. Good that you've found your answer there.

I may or may not have run over one of the bunnies that lives in the woods near my house. They come out and graze on our driveway and he jumped in front of me before I even realized what happened. I was too afraid to look but my husband said I didn't hit it... but he would say that even if I did.

You'd probably noticed if you had hit it.

That is what he tried to tell me. But we live on a dirt road and I drive a jeep so it is already all bumpy and stuff.
