mad dash to hospital icu unit last night for my best friend's heart attack.  two stints, balloon pump, she's stable.  no fun.
Good wishes towards a speedy recovery!

thanks guys.  they've got her stable and in a room.  monitoring for at least another day.

edit:  thanks a lot, you guys.  i scrolled up after i posted and saw how many of you wished wendy well.  wendy is my best friend and we were together for like sixteen years; ex or not it would be a shame to lose such a good friend.  she's too young for this.

the only reason i knew to go up there is my business partner's wife is an emt and called me from the ambulance when they discovered through chatting about one another's tattoos that they both knew me.  she took a turn for the worse after they called me, and my friend called me (after saving wendy's life) to tell me to get my ass to the hospital because her family wasn't expected till the morning and things were too serious to leave her alone.

I hope Wendy is well again soon, Brooke

I realised today that I had decided immediately on not going to a law fair in Manchester next week because of the fact that nobody will speak to me.  It's pretty shitty to realise you're that affected by people ignoring you.  The so-called Law Society at our university comprises of students going out and getting drunk and calling themselves the Law Society - the employers don't see all that though, they see the name and think it's prestigious.  If you don't go out and befriend all these 'popular' people immediately, you don't get shit for the rest of your degree.  I'm going to go to the fair, whether people interact with me or not, I guess I'm just pretty shocked that I've been that degraded to think of myself as not worth going to something just because of other people's actions (or lack thereof)

are all the other law students in this group?

Not all, but pretty much all the ones I have any classes with.  Everyone else has already formed their own little friendship groups and nobody seems interested in letting anyone else in.  I worked my butt off night and day last year so I didn't go out drinking and therefore didn't have chance to talk to anyone.  I did try hard to make friends, but it just didn't seem to happen.  I would think I was getting somewhere with someone, then they would see someone more interesting and literally walk away without even saying goodbye to me.
...and in another 20 years or so, guess where the cabinet ministers
and their cronies will ALL have come from....

So much stuff is happening to other people that I know right now. I wish I could do more to help them.

In the last two weeks -
a friend had her baby 16 weeks early. So far so good but babies born that early have a very rough time.

a friend's husband died. He had gone into hospital the week before thinking he had appendicitis. It ended up being a bowel obstruction and he had complications from the surgery. Now she is on her own with a 5 year old and a 1 year old.

another one of my friends had her son spend the week in ICU after a near fatal asthma attack.

my great aunt just found out she has stage 4 bowel cancer and another great aunt collapsed the other day and they found three huge brain tumours.

Some cheeky middle aged drunk bitches just decided to sit on the bike and take pictures. My workmate saw them and told Matt, I really wish I'd got out there before they left, I would have bitched them the fuck out. They even had the cheek to ask Matt to take the pictures, then one put her leg over the bike and said 'you know you want some' erm, no, grandma, he doesn't. I can't even quantify how angry it makes me that people are so disrespectful as to even touch that bike. I am shaking with anger, they wouldn't know what fucking hit them if I'd got out there.

at least Matt was there to stop them seriously fucking with the bike.

I'm so sorry, froggy, hope everything will start to look better for you and people you know, soon! *huggles*

I know what I'm about to say sounds way silly after reading what everyone else posted, but I'm going to post it anyway because it's driving me crazy!

There's a party going on somewhere in my neighborhood (don't know where exactly). They're playing really bass-y music, and I don't know why, but heavy bass drives me crazy. I get really anxious when I hear this kind of stuff, and I basically just want to go sit in a corner and cry, while holding my head and rocking my body.
