I've been desperately trying to get a copy of James St James book Disco Bloodbath/Party Monster, but no book store in NZ has it and no ebook retailers will sell it outside of the US. I read the first two chapters as a sample, and now I'm dying to read the rest. I finally found a store (Simon and Schuster) that would let me buy it, so I bought it, and then they said there was an error and they couldn't send it to me, and it doesn't show up in my "digital library" or on my account at all that I tried to buy it, it's still in my "cart", yet even though they wouldn't sell it to me, they still charged $15 from my credit card, so now I'm broke and I still have no book.

I got the book in the end, but the payment went through twice. I'm pretty sure it was a glitch with the page rather than the website being evil (although I blamed the hell out of them anyway when I was sulking with rage and bookless) because of easter being annoying and in the way I'll have to wait until tuesday (tuesday!) to hassle the bank about recovering the first payment, which is apparently in some authorisation limbo thing, but hopefully I can get it back.

Reading aggressively sexual comments on a photo of a friend that a different friend put on facebook. Friend #1 doesn't have facebook and won't see the comments, but a group of guys who are friends with Friend #2 have decided that they like her and that it's cool to say all this stuff about how they'd ram that or whatever. 
It freaks me out how men talk about women sometimes. If they're talking about a celebrity or whatever, I usually feel sort of distressed seeing it and the way they seem to think of them but I know to let it go because I don't know how that person feels or anything.
I DO know how my friend would feel, because I get really upset when people make comments like that about me and I find out (like, really, really 'oh god, should I just kill myself now?' upset) and I've talked to her about it and she's always said that she feels the same.

Ugh. I don't know if I should tell her or not tell her...I probably won't say anything to the people commenting because then I'd just be opening myself up for comments about how I'm jealous because I'm ugly or whatever and I don't feel up for dealing with that, but I wish I could shut them up.

I had already sent a message to her about it when I made that post but I haven't heard from her. She's not very good about...caring about things? I'm kind of expecting her to throw a bitchfit about how it's not her problem and it's not like she's going to see them and blah blah blah but you never know. She might actually be sensible this one time!
