Oh I'm really thinking of it, the fact that they shouted queer was complete coincidence I'm sure they had no idea that it happened to be true.
Going into the Bistro was actually hilarious because the French waiter got very passionate with his hate, "Fucking cunts!"
The only bad part is that I was on my way to a club and didn't have time to go home and change coats, and I have 5 tiny tiny tiny cuts on my hand where the egg broke apart.
It's a war wound, what can I say.

Also, I was quite drunk when I posted that last night, so I may have sounded more hurt emotionally than I was.

This whole story reminds me of Will & Grace, specifically this bit:

"You hit a queer and they're like, "Did I just get hit by a bottle? Eh. All in a day." "

I thought of the exact same scene when it happened

@Shane: I'm sorry that happened to you. People who enjoy such silly and mean-spirited things must be truly sad individuals.

@Mali: That's awful, was anyone hurt?

I heard minor injuries, nothing major. The pizza shop was full of customers when it first started smoking, but they all got out okay. I'm watching it smoke from my window now. About eight businesses are all gone.

all the shit that got dumped on my brother in the last 24 hours:

his stepdaughter's ex (the dad of her 2 little girls) died

his best friend's daughter has inoperable cancer; she's got a year at the outside.

if there's a god, he can eat a bottomless barrel of rancid dicks.

^ That's terrible, my condolences to him. :(

My grandma just called to say that there's been another teen suicide in the tiny country town she lives in in New Zealand, the third in less than 6 months. I'm not sure what the motive was for the first one, but the other 2 were so tragic... a girl broke up with her boyfriend and he shot himself the next day, then a week later (today) she hung herself and her father found her and tried to revive her, but it was too late. All 3 of these kids were in my cousin's class at school and she's been so upset about it all. I think it's really getting to me because I can really tell my grandma is worried about my cousin and how this kinda thing just doesn't happen in her happy little town. I just can't fathom killing yourself because a high school relationship ended - most of them do. Sure, it feels like the worst thing in the world at the time but they have to know deep down things will probably get better, they'll find someone else, etc. I dunno. Maybe I was abnormally mature about that kinda thing when I was a teenager. But for the girl to have seen what her ex-boyfriend's family were going through after his suicide, and then to still go through with her own... gah. Don't get it. I guess that's why I'm not a counselor/psychologist.

Oh look, it's something I learned in college....
It's not at all uncommon for teens to commit suicide in strings.  As nearly as anyone has been able
to determine, there's no cause-effect course from one to another, and often the kids involved don't
know each other, but it'll happen in a single class, different classes in the same school, or even just
as different schools in nearby communities.  Around here, if a kid from any nearby school commits
suicide, they send a memo out to teachers in the whole district to be extra vigilant for signs of distress.

This. I actually grew up in a fairly small town in New Zealand, and we had something like 8 suicides in all in the year I was 16. Some of them new each other, most of them didn't, and they came from all different schools and social groups. I'm not sure why it happens in strings like this, but it's definitely a thing. Definitely keep a close eye on your cousin if you think she may be depressed, or even if she isn't, she might still need your support.

I think the string would be the fact that after one person does it, then it's no longer just a concept.
One person got out, the rest can. It's not just an idea any more, they can really do it

Chain reaction. A few years ago, in our old neighbourhood, a 55 years old teacher had committed suicide, she was a person i used to know, a good friend of my mum. Not long after, i heard that her neighbour downstairs also committed suicide. I didn't have any idea who he was until a couple of months ago, i've heard that he was my classmate from the elementary school.

He had his plate full, i guess he couldn't get used to the cruelty and bullying in the highschool (He was hairlipped, and as some fucktards used to mock at him, he was quite sensitive and depressive), anyway him committing suicide was not something people could see coming.
He might have got even more depressed after our teacher had committed suicide. I don't know.

You know human brain is strange, hearing the suicidal of somebody might affect everybody in different ways. Some people take the courage, some people get scared, some get depressed.

ugh, all those stories are really sad  :-\

do you guys think that there are people who commit suicide without being clinically depressed?
like, who rationally do it, without any mental state affecting them?

Sometimes i think it's just a momentary decision caused by various disappointments / sadnesses / weaknesses one might have gulped down over the years.

I knew my classmate had his plate full and he got overly depressed from time to time, but the teacher was one of the happiest and most energetic people i'd ever known, the whole school got shaken up by her commiting suicide. Cops carried out months of investigation in order to find a reason, and they also had suspicion whether it was a suicide or murder. But they couldn't find anything even after questioning her close family. So everybody thought it was just one moment of madness.  :-\

Honestly, i do think all our mental healths are always on the thin ice. So i guess one doesn't have to be clinically depressed in order to commit suicide.

I do think some people are very rational about it, but they are usually the kind of people who aren't very happy anyway. Sometimes it's just a chemical imbalance, and doesn't even have anything to do with being bullied or having a tough life. I read about a woman who committed suiced and planned everything months in advance. She even had even ordered a coffin because she didn't want to be a burden on her family. I really think that sometimes people evaluate their life and just figure that death wouldn't be such a bad alternative.

I read a story not long ago about a pretty young guy, maybe 13, who committed suicide. He was supposed to be really intelligent and later police found notebooks that he had filled with the rationalisation of suicide; he sort of weighed the pros and cons of living and decided it wasn't worth it so he committed suicide. So sad.

^I was just going to mention that. I think it's totally possible to reason yourself to death, if that makes sense. The world is a pretty fucking horrible place, it's completely irrational for us to want to stay here. We want to stay alive because we're driven by animal instinct and a complete inability to see the big picture, as well as having severe difficulty in empathising with other people. If we could fully understand the suffering others go through and the scale on which it happens as well as transcending our animal urge to stay alive at all costs, suicide would be an awful lot more common.

I've been wondering since I saw Cabin In The Woods, if you had a big red button that would end the world, would you press it? I would, in a heartbeat, and of the people I've asked two said absolutely not and two said they didn't know. But I guess we all have that button - if you kill yourself, you effectively end the world from your subjective view. The only difference is that ending the world with a big red button means that nobody else has to live on with grief and loss after you're gone.
