and i was hoping you'd say Tasmania...

I might have the same style of antique-map shirt. I definitely have one.   :glasses9:

A beanie... WITH A BOBBLE ON IT. Supernatural is great if you sort of go with it - like accept the hamminess and the silliness and the sausage-fest and just enjoy it. My brother phoned last week while I was watching the new ep and he goes, "Oh come on - you're better than that". No, brother, I am not better than male underwear models shooting things in the face and then crying about their feelings. Nor do I ever, ever want to be better than that.

I went shopping and bought two woolly jumpers, a bobble hat and a t-shirt with a map on. So much happies. I'm thinking of slouching about the internet and spending some more money, because I love it. Now I'm sat in bed with nothing on below the waist so I don't have to take off my jumper or my hat if I get too warm, and watching the new season of Supernatural. All of the happies. All of them.

so woolly jumper = sweater & bobble hat = beanie right?

I've never tried supernatural but it seems to be pretty popular around the box

Whenever someone says sausage fest it makes me want some bratwurst really bad. No innuendo or anything - it just makes me hungry.

I really like what is sold as bratwurst in America, but the only German bratwurst I've ever had was pretty nasty.

My employer (dad) gives 2 bonuses a year. One at Christmas and one at the end of Summer. Summer bonuses are usually reserved for foreman/crew leaders. But, today my dad informed me that I was getting a Summer bonus as well! It is my first one in 7 yrs at the company and I am very excited. I am more excited that he complimented me and told me what a good job I have done this Summer and that I was deserving of a bonus than I actually am about the money... not that I don't like that part as well.

it's okay. old maps are cool. i once had a wall calendar with a different old map each month and they were all really pretty and nicely inaccurate.

I'm HOME! Back in England until Monday, and so, so happy about it :D Mum and Bob (step-dad) picked me up from the airport today - I'm staying with them because of the thing with my dad about him not wanting me to live with him any more - and then tomorrow it's an evaluation meeting for Quaker Summer School which means I get to hang out with the other volunteers who I haven't seen since August. I've missed them xD And then, on Sunday, Dad's picking me up to go and walk the dogs (the DOGS!! highlight of the trip!) and then go for a pub lunch. I told him I was excited and he told me he was looking forwards to it 'inordinately', which made me very happy in a pretty pathetic way.

God I love my family. One of the reasons Christmas is such a fantastic, gorgeous time - everyone piles back home for a week or so and you get to all hang out again :D

Well technically 3, but the third is a conference thingy in a different city so it doesn't count.
Then off down south for the long weekend.

I got my upper lip pierced today, right in the middle (medusa piercing). It's really pretty.

At first wasn't sure if I would do it, 'cause I had to babysit tonight. And I didn't want to arrive with a massively swollen lip. Medusa piercings tend to swell A LOT (it gives you permanent duck face for a couple of days). But apparently most of the "lip getting bigger" happens overnight. So I got the piercing and now I'm happy! I just hope my lip doesn't get too big. But with my swelling track record, I'm not too hopeful.

EDIT: I tried to describe the feeling of my new piercng earlier today, I said "it feels like there's something in my mouth permanently, that wasn't there before..." I AM SUCH A GENIUS. I'm obvs the best detective in the world. It made me LOL.

And this is how I will counteract my terribly negative post in shit that ruined your day! Today, I celebrated my birthday with my family. I got to see my not-actually-my-brother little brother - and I haven't seen him in months. I laughed harder than I have laughed in.. like... years or something. I got to be around people who love me, who I love. People who really did just want me to be happy, on my day, even if they were inadvertently fucking it up. We went to a cornmaze and it rained and we got very wet which made me very irritable - but before I got irritable it was a ton of fun. My step-brother gets along amazingly with the rest of us and I think I might love him someday like I love my not-brother, although it would take a long time to love him as real. Almost the whole time was smiles and laughs and it was pretty awesome.
