really? i thought i'd try prepare for the worst so i'm not disappointed... i really don't know what to expect... and i'm slighty worried about her doing all these shows having a bronchitis!? at least, an instore gig that was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon already got cancelled (albeit
) :-/
Well, we also prepared for the worst, so that's probably a good thing to do. Also, the Paris gig was before she knew it was a bronchitis, they thought it was just a cold. So I don't know how that new knowledge is going to affect the show.
In Paris, they played three songs with the lyrics on big signs for the audience (smile, want it back and the killing type), then Amanda sang a few songs that weren't so hard on her voice, and with some help from Chad and the audience for the singing. And then there were two girls from the audience who sang, and the whole audience sang along: sing and in my mind. After these songs, Amanda commented that the concert was just like a self help seminar thing (hearing the whole audience sing stuff like "I'm exactly the person that I want to be" and "you motherfuckers, you'll sing someday"). It was good.
aww that sounds very special.
i just arrived back home from the concert tonight and it was really good. i mean reeeeally good. i found it way better than when she was here last year and that wasn't exactly a bad show back then! her voice sounded as good as ever, i wouln't have known she was sick if i hadn't read it before (and if she didn't have to blow her nose during the conert

) and someone threw a box of teabags and cough drops on the stage...
also before AFP>O neil gaiman read 2 poems (and later sang a song), jherek's and chad's bands played and there was a butoh perfomance! and there was almost no ukulele! (which is a good thing :-P).
and the horn and string players were all female! hell yeah.
at the beginning, i stood in approx. the 10th row on the side but weirdly people didn't really stand as cramped as they usually do in the first couple rows. and with all the dancing and people coming and going i naturally ended up at the 5th row in the center after a while. and there was still space around me (like there was hardly any physical contact with the people on the sides..). i hope that had something to do with a couple of very tall guys in the front, rather than with me being smelly

only downside was they didn't play melody dean or grown man cry, and the general volume was so loud i coudn't hear the awesome horn section at all, and of course that there was no signing.
all in all pretty day making!
