...then again, maybe this should be in the Supernatural Encounters thread...  Perhaps "Soul
Men" is the African-American answer to MacBeth The Scottish Play... [creepy music]

Actually I meant the whole series, but IMDB has been kind enough to provide the details.
I wonder how I missed a whole series of Blackadder....   :dontknow:

Don LaFontaine....

Who?  You might ask...  Well, the only time you've probably seen his face was in that GEICO commercial,
but he's been the voice of pretty much every movie trailer ever.

Uh oh....

It's another guy you've never seen, and whose name a lot of you won't know, but whose work
99.4% of you know well...

Bill Melendez, who brought Charles Schultz's static visions to the moving-picture format has left this world at age 91...
He did all right in Hollywood for a kid from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

Weird.

I talked to my mum yesterday and, out of the blue, she wondered aloud "I wonder how Paul Newman's doing?"

She never wonders or talks about celebrities.

Bit eerie. He probably died right around the time she asked the question an' all. :o

I just told her he died. Just a minute ago. She's sad. She said "He was a good man." Apparently the "best Christmas she ever had" was before she was married at a party at which everyone sat around and watched 'Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid'. She remembers it really fondly. She said when she and her date arrived the film was just starting on TV and gradually, as other people arrived, folks all sat down with wine and stuff and watched the movie.. and by the time it was over everyone had had a few drinks and there was a full house and then the party started.

Good movie too. My mum isn't really into movies. But she likes that one.

Anyway. R.I.P. Mr Newman.

So long and thanks for all the mayo.
