I know there are some hidden Sex and the City fans out there, so I figured I'd open up a thread on this topic...
I just saw the movie today and I really enjoyed it.  I didnt want to go at first because of all the hype and I was "over" it but I think they did a really good job with it.

Sooooo.... did anyone else see it?  Love it ?  Hate it? 
Have any philisophical quandries on Charotte, Miranda, Samantha or Carrie?

p.s.  I thought Cynthia Nixon looked totally hot in her sex scene.

I'm SO excited to see it. I was talking to Chantal about it and we were trying to figure out when her song played (neither of us could get to the theatre) and so I texted my sister to find out and it turns out it was the exact moment it came on. It was freaky. I'm so seeing this movie sometime this week.

i was never really a big fan, but i was dragged to the midnight showing on thursday.
our theater's projectionist sucked and didn't frame the film correctly, so there were an insane amount of Boom Mics showing (and at one point, a lighting kit.)

as a film student, that kinda bugged me, but i still liked the movie =]

my mom's been watching the dvds all day. lol

With 30 minutes to go in the film, the fire alarm went off!!!

A 22 screen megaplex emptied itself into the parking lot. It was chaos.

Thank god it wasn't a real fire, because our lazy-ass fire department showed up 20 minutes after the alarm first went off.

My mom is going to get our money back so we can go see it again.

But up until that point I was loving it.

I only watched the show a few times, but I think I remember that episode!  Is it the one where Sarah Jessica Parker was doing the runway model thing and tripped in her high heels?  Margaret Cho was a fashion person and, as she was watching SJP stumble and fall, she said "well, fuck me hard!"  Yeah, that was priceless - I loved it.

I saw the movie today. Didn't expect it to be thought-provoking but was expecting it to be a little empowering. It wasn't. It was a really dumb movie that will make a lot of money. And basically just enforced the fact that, you need to find love before you can experience happy endings. Psh.

The only good thing about it was Kim Cattral in a bikini.

So yeah I was totally loving this movie but my friend pointed out some obvious racism in the movie that I noticed but just overlooked at the time.
One, the whole Charlotte only eating the pudding because of they were in dirty Mexico.  That was just ridiculous.  She deserved to shit her pants. 
Two, Jennifer Hudsons character, was totally the token black chick.  I found it interesting that the only character in the movie that couldn't afford her own ridiculous name-brand fancy purse -she actually had to rent them- was a black person.  And I loved howing Carrie descending upon her like the Great White Hope of Christmas to give her her "very own Louis Vutton" !!! ick  And they sent her back home!   It must be hard for a sister to make it in the city.

Oh and Samantha was such a porker, don't you agree??  She must be up to, like a size 6 now!
I would punch my friends in the face if they are said "Ohh my, tsk tsk you've let yourself go"
Unless I cant physically leave the house and need an oxygen mask to help me breath, shut yo mouth.

And, what fuckhead  would go back to Big after that shitty thing he did?  Someone with no self respect thats who.  I hope the next Sex & the City movie, Big beats the shit out of Carrie in a drunken rage and the buys her the latest Hermes bag and all is well.  I'd also like to see the Big Makes Carrie Have an Abortion episode where it ends with Big saying "Oh baby, you know I love you but I cant afford a kid when you want a new pair of shoes every week" and then Carrie writes a column that starts with "I couldnt help but wonder, are babies the new Payless shoes?"
I guess that's all we really need, ladies, just rich man and some $500 shoes.

And I have never met anyone that finds Sarah Jessica Parker attractive, unfortunately. 
Everyone points out her long face or nose or whatever.  I felt so bad when some stupid men's magazine voted her like most unattractive actress.  That is really cruel.  I think she is really pretty, she's just not your "typical pretty".  But a lot of us (most of us I would say) arent, so it's cool that she is the lead actress in show that sells sexiness.

But I did love that scene when Charlotte stole the show, it was really intense (the one after the first wedding).

I saw this 3 movie-geeks talking about this movie and they were "What a fucking piece of shit, it´s an awfull movie, even i am a fan of the serie that movie is awfull... my girlfrien loved it" and the said something about a joke in the movie... in which they are in México and one of the actors say oh i will just order pudin cause... we are in México you know....   ehm that doesn´t bother me... but ehm someone to explain this to me?

In the movie, the four women go on vacation to Mexico, and Charlotte -the more 'prim & proper' one- refuses to eat the food in Mexico because , basically she thinks it will be dirty or contaminated, so she decides to eat packaged pudding the whole time instead.
The she gets some water in her mouth during a shower and she shits her pants.

I liked the movie, but that might be because I didn't take it seriously. It didn't jive completely with the series (which, of course, I own in its entirety) but was more like a drunken reunion that was fun to watch. And Cynthia Nixon DID look hot in her sex scene, which I've found myself being surprised about every time I think about it (which has been quite a few times since I saw the movie).

Kim Cattrall, or however you spell the bitch's name, has never been hot. But she still wasn't fat at the end. Actually, when they zoomed in on her stomach, I didn't even get it until they told her she looked like she let herself go and to "listen to her gut lolz" about Smith and everything. Bitches.

Miranda was not-so-cute in the first season, but with each season she has gotten hotter.

I was genuinly sad when Carrie started beating Big with the flowers.

Although I think SJP is ugly, I will say that she looked better as a brunette.
My favorite part was when Carrie was interveiwing assistants.

Went to see it two weeks ago. It was good, but the story annoyed me. It was completely unbelievable.
Two things that annoyed me the most: (spoilers, obviously)
1 - Carrie being pissed at Miranda for what she said to Big. Seriously, if THAT's the reason he doesn't want to go through with it, he probably wasn't too convinced to begin with. Really, Carrie should be thanking her. Did she really want to marry a man that has doubts about the wedding?
2 - The ending. It felt rushed. It was stupid. It nearly ruined the entire movie for me. They meet in a closet and suddenly they fuck and get married? Worst.ending.ever.

yeah, see, for me that was the best scene in the entire movie. It all went downhill from there.

i loved cynthia nixon's haircut/clothes in this movie
and would totally fuck her.

they dragged out the situations with the men way too much, i think...
as in-carrie/big, miranda/steve.

it pretty much just irritated me.

the ending sucked and it seemed like
every actress must have had something in each of her
own contracts, that they each had to have so much face time
and so many close ups, etc.

i was also very disappointed in samantha for not fucking the hot neighbor.
she's pretty lame for being totally monogamous in this movie.

I kind of thought the timeline of the Carrie/Big and Miranda/Steve situations was realistic. It takes a lot of time to heal broken hearts and damaged marriages. I would rather experience a lengthy problem with eventual resolution than a quickly wrapped up, bullshit Hollywood ending.

But yeah. Samantha should've fucked her neighbor.
