I'm going to admit something now. I had NEVER even heard of the Umbrella song until the night after Sxip's Hour of Charm when someone put it on at the cloud club.

I was talking to someone and I suddenly hear this awful music and say "what the hell is this crap?"
I have not heard the song since until right now when a random mix of dolls songs came up in my library and the cover version came up.

Again I was like "what is this shit?"

What is the fascination? I didnt even know who the song was by until 10 minutes ago.

you aren't the only one. I had never heard of it until I watched the youtube video from the Fringe Festival.
I think the covers I've heard are far better than the real thing. But I'm not sure what the fascination is...

There's no real fascination, its just an utterly stupid song that is well over-played.

Amanda blogged about it a while ago.

i have a wonderdful friend who would give me a lift home from school everyday! only down point- his choice of music... this is when my mocking of umbrella began...

while we would sing dance and drive at once (we never crashed thankgod :P) I would over the top dance and sing a long screaming ELLA ELLA ELLA EH EH EH out the window... This wonderful form of self expression was given the name cruising.

although about the time amandas blogs on umbrella started we had moved to SHUT UP AND DRIVE! perhapsw she'll do that next :P ... or the classy ms britney spears's GIMME MORE... we made a cruisng dance to that one!

While in New York recently, I heard "Umbrella" while in a corner store. I have to admit that for just a split second, I felt like a trauma victim having a flashback.  :o  I think this is the first time a song has scarred my psyche.

I need Femme Fatal, the Velvet underground cover. Really.  I checked the links all ready here, they've expired.  I'll be your best friend if you upload it for me!

I Believe in Airplanes isn't a solo song, and neither is Will. You May Kiss the Bride is not going on the album either, so technically its shared even though there are no recordings, I think. And even though the old demo is fine, I think Provanity should be *'d. Also, why isn't 672 shared?

the only known recording of i believe in aeroplanes is performed solo.  until there's a recording of full band, i consider it a solo song.  will has been performed solo before.  as far as you may kiss the bride, the * means in circulation or not, not if it's shared.  provanity is in wide release.  and the feb. '06 versions of 672 aren't in circulation.

ahh, okay. thank you for that. then here are some more to add to the list.

Wow Sex changes has been performed solo. Is it shared?
Has anyone else ever thought the intro would sound great on violin?

I'm sure there are more. Those are just ones from semi-recent setlists.
