Ha, I am not in the market for birth control, but but when I am "sexually active" I sure will because little children terrify me.

Whether you do or you do not, millions of girls your age think they will never want children. Almost invariably, they change their minds. You don't want kids now. You shouldn't want kids now. Responding to your very normal, but traditionally temporary state of mind, with invasive surgery, would be insane... not just from a liability standpoint, but from a moral one.

Question. Two, actually. How deep do you think love can get, and how close to that deeply have you felt it?

Legally, I could. I am 18, and that does happen to be the age of majority here.
HOWEVER, I do realize that no self-respecting doctor would aloow me to go through with it, so...

I know, it's kind of obnoxious if you ask me.
If a woman who is legal to drink, smoke, engage in anal sex, strip, buy/watch porn, etc wants to take away her ability to have children, she should be able to make that choice.

A friend of mine wanted to get her tubes tied when she was 25. She already had 2 kids and didn't want anymore. The doctor told her to come back when she was 30 as the hospital had a policy of not performing the procedure on anyone younger than that. The fear of being sued is a powerful thing, I can't see how you could sue a Dr for correctly performing a procedure at your request, but obviously someone has or the fear wouldn't be there.

I don't know if you have it in Canada but here we have contraceptive implants that go in your arm and last for three years - good idea for people who don't want kids any time soon.

Pisses me off--you don't want kids? Want your tubes tied? fine, sign a waiver that disallows you from suing.

I think it is 99.5% effective. Both my sisters have had it for a couple of years and neither have fallen pregnant.

It's just implanted birth control hormones, with a slow release into the bloodstream. If you take antibiotics you can still get pregnant. The advantage is you don't have to take a pill at the same time every day.
