I think I want my mom to homeschool Emilia, but Ben thinks it's a crazy idea...
Holy crap, it seems like we can't agree on anything anymore.
i've always wondered why people homeschool their children, i think it's the most important thing a child will do, learning how to cope with other people in an environment like that, it comes in very useful in college and eventually in a workplace.
of course, this is just my opinion.
I disagree, and actually think that the homeschooled kids I've known are more socially able than ones that went through the public school system. Here in the states, at least. Plus there are some great homeschooling programs out there to support the parents as teachers and children as learners. Cadosynn, you've got a couple years in which to figure this stuff out
Homeschooling isn't really an option here, but i'd imagine that someone who isn't used to like, having attention divided between them and other people, or having friends that are the same age as themselves, wouldn't function as well in the wider world.
i study sociology in uni and school is constantly cited as one of the most important sites of socialisation, it's where we learn to deal with other people, how to consider other people's needs, learn how to share etc.
anyway, as anna points out, you've got a few years to figure it out.
