Oooooh shit, I had an appointment at my school today. And I wasn't planning to go to that today, since wednesday is my day off, and I already had something else this afternoon. Anyway, I meant to call them to reschedule the appointment, but I forgot. And I also forgot that the appointment was already today. So now I have to fix this somehow... My brain seriously fails >_<

They give nutritional information on pretty much every kind of food, and it seems to be a totally serious website, and yet I found the nutritional info on 'bear, simmered', 'bear, smoked' and 'polar bear, boiled'. WTF? Who eats bear?

It's smart/frugal (and also very Scottish, I'm led to believe)....
Also keep a close eye on the unit-price of various items; a lot of things cost twice as
much depending on what size box/jar/tin you get, or which brand.

Bear can carry trichinosis, so make sure you cook it thoroughly.

i've always wondered why people homeschool their children, i think it's the most important thing a child will do, learning how to cope with other people in an environment like that, it comes in very useful in college and eventually in a workplace.
of course, this is just my opinion.

I disagree, and actually think that the homeschooled kids I've known are more socially able than ones that went through the public school system. Here in the states, at least. Plus there are some great homeschooling programs out there to support the parents as teachers and children as learners. Cadosynn, you've got a couple years in which to figure this stuff out

i study sociology in uni and school is constantly cited as one of the most important sites of socialisation, it's where we learn to deal with other people, how to consider other people's needs, learn how to share etc.

anyway, as anna points out, you've got a few years to figure it out.

There's all those community activities (sports, classes...). I was in Girl Scouts until I was 12. Volunteer work. The camp that I started to attend around the same time that I would've started preschool/kindergarten encouraged leadership and team work and communication and fun. School isn't really the only place that can teach you to tolerate and work with "different" people.

While I would have to agree Ros, this might just be a cultural thing. Homeschooling is technically illegal in Ireland.

so, my ex has nothing to do over his easter break (he's in the army) and he asked me if i was going home, i told him i doubt it which is very true since my parents will be living in france at that stage. anyway, he asked me if he could come to dundee and stay with me for the two weeks he has off. i was like, yeah ok not thinking that he would actually want to come over. but he does.

i get myself in the oddest situations.
