Oh, fuck yes. Are they even still touring? I remember they were going to take a break after James Ribiat died, and Lucas Lanthier has been all busy with the Deadfly Ensemble, but I hope they're still together O_O

I don't know. :/
The last I heard from them touring was in 2008. But I really hope to see them some day, or at least Deadfly Ensemble.

Just watched the Glee performance of The Time Warp.

The only things good about it were Tina as Columbia and Kurt as Riff. Honestly, if anyone was stupid enough to remake Rocky Horror, they should hopefully have the least bit of brain capacity to cast him.

otherwise, it made me a bit angry. Anyone that's a hardcore "gleek" (other than maybe a couple of people) that I know don't seem to realize that Rocky Horror is a classic in the name of cult followings. It should never be redone in its entirety, and certainly, they shouldn't just throw the cast together willy-nilly. I like that they're sort of bringing it back, but if the movie was redone, it would either ruin everything or completely bomb. People compare this sort of thing to Star Trek, but it's NOT the same. Rocky Horror was awful ON PURPOSE, so that you could fall in love with its flaws. It is never meant to be retouched because it's bad, because that's the whole concept: it's a parody of musicals, sci-fi B-movies, and horror flicks. It's not meant to be serious at all, and is fine the way it is.

I didn't like any of the casting really. Magenta was just plain awful! It was either overly obvious or just weird and not well chosen. I know it's good for more people to see the original that might not otherwise... but I dislike a lot of those people  It's the same when people cover songs. Folks that are hardcore into the new band accept that as the best and just diss the old one.

I can't wait to see RHPS next week even more now. Remind me, must put together costume. Ok, off topic...

RHPS is playing at the theater down the street from me, but i dont get to see it because we have to save money for our move...but anyways, i think glee is a horrible show and shouldnt try doing any of the songs because they ruin everything they touch

In the book I was reading it says, "The secret police made short shrift of suspicious males in those days: They opened their trousers and looked to see whether they were circumcised. If they were, they shot them." It brought on a silly conversation about circumcision between my mom and me, but I haven't decided if I'd chose that for my own kids or not. I should probably figure that out soon.

I only thought Kurt sang it remotely well. Chris Colfer is my favorite on the show, because he's got the best story line, and he's fucking talented. Plus, he's fabulous!

*gag**gag**GAG* I can't deal. I see it so much on my news feed on facebook now, and it's really irritating. I am indeed glad that MTV cut away from the idea of a remake (I was part of the petition, long ago, and actually got an email from them about the Rebellyon), but to my understanding, they're now giving GLEE the rights to do a production of Rocky Horror (a stage version, I believe) with the teacher, Lea Michele, and someone else. I hope it doesn't turn into the idea of a movie, because that would make me want to vomit everywhere. I'm all for spreading the love of Rocky Horror, but not in a way that discourages what gave it the success, which is the ORIGINAL MOVIE.

Oh, and Rocky Horror Show is opening at a theater near my house this weekend, so I'll probably end up going with someone. Cabaret also opened out at my friend's college, and I need to see that as well.

Unrelated: Richard O'Brian voices Ferb's Dad in Phineas and Ferb, and when I found out, it made me love the show more. And Tim Curry is a God.

My day today:
Sent check off in the mail to settle old credit card account for about half it's original amount,
before they decide to sue me. 

Got legal document I've been waiting for in the mail....  Body of document is on page one,
signature and notary seal are on a separate sheet page two.  (This means document is worthless.)

Dumbass in a pickup truck backed into me... No injuries, relatively minor damage to my car,
and none I could see to his truck...  Still a damn nuisance.

"Dead Snow" was great (shown on a proper screen as part of the VMFA's Friday Films series.
Nazi Zombies, subtitles, and a pretty good metal soundtrack - what more could one ask?  (Well, actual nudity woulda been nice, but eh...)

Local installation-art show "In-Light" was either kinda weak or waaaay over my head.
...but it was a nice night just to go out and mingle on cobbled streets under dim lighting...

All in all...  a day.
