Can I ask what the arguments are against neutering if breeding isn't going to happen? Like I can understand if it's expensive, but wouldn't it be more expensive to have all these accidental puppies? Both ours are spayed.

None. Have I said or sounded like Im against it? If so, sorry. We (my family) wanted to breed our dog. In fact, a lady came by November last asking if we wanted to breed. We agreed, but she didnt call or came here again. My dog is 15 years old, btw.

And I dont know about them. I was 11 and I wasnt aware of everything concerned it. But if they did not care to check if the common gates were closed, I think they didnt care about having to give away a dozen of puppies every 2 months or so. Specially cause paying for neutering wouldnt be a problem for any of us.

No, sorry, I didn't mean you were against it - I just wondered if you knew what the arguments were xD What kind of dog do you have?

So cute!! I love the last one xD It's like he's watching the horizon for signs of land after seventeen months at sea.

True!  ;D

He used to be really active, but now he barely goes to the door when someone is getting in home. Back then, he would be running and barking all day long. Sometimes I could hear him almost a block away. No bollocks.

^I tend to go the overly-friendly route and then be horrible once I know a person well enough. It's fairly rare that I'll be rude by default, and if I am then it's usually because I'm having a really foul day and want to kill something. But I think it makes a big difference. When I worked in the library, the difference between how I felt after serving a polite, friendly customer to how I felt after serving someone who didn't even make eye-contact or say thank you or something was enormous. I'm with you on getting riled up over things, Seamy says I get way too worked up when things annoy me, and I think you're right that if you're busy then it's reasonable enough to ignore people to an extent. Personally, I'd respond to the stapler-lifter with a smile and an of course, but I don't think there's anything particularly rude in your method. Screaming "STFU, BITCH!" before wrestling the stapler from their hands and launching it across the room, however, might be considered tactless.

@spider - Our Labrador started slowing right down when she got older, and when we had her we also had a little old terrier who didn't do anything all day. So the obvious solution was to buy a springer spaniel puppy to liven her up xD It worked, too. Once the old dog died, especially, the springer started to have a big effect on the lab because she'd always want to play with her and run around and basically keep her moving. It was pretty cool :)

So I was watching frontline with my Dad and my good friend was on talking about homophobic bullying.
My dad turns to me and asks, with genuine care, "You never get hassled do you".
I replied "Nope" with confidence.
This was kind of a double edged sword, on one hand it's nice that he cares.
But then again, I came out almost 3 years ago and this is the first time since then my being gay has ever been mentioned.
It's a little late to start showing an interest now, I have my home life and my other life and I've learned to live that way.
It means that I often don't tell my parents the truth, for instance I'm not just staying "with a friend", I'm staying with a guy I'm seeing. I'm going out to a club, not specifically a gay club.
Of course eventually I'll want to introduce them to a boyfriend, but their neglect (for lack of a better word) of this part of me has caused me to separate this part of me from them completely. Frankly I think my romantic life and sexuality constitutes none of their business, I don't think it concerns them.
They chose to ignore it while they could have paid it attention, now to want to know about it would feel suffocating.

^It does suck that they don't talk about it more, but perhaps this is their way of normalising it? I'm only out to one of my sisters at home, but we don't really chat about it at all. I know that it isn't that she doesn't care or think it's important to me, but just that really it doesn't effect our relationship so it doesn't need mentioning. Perhaps your parents feel the same - that you're still their son and they love you regardless, so they don't want to make a big deal of your sexuality and make it seem like a "thing"? Or maybe it's just going to take them a while for them to feel comfortable talking naturally and easily about it. I know three years sounds like a long time, but this is a big thing and maybe it's just going to take a little longer.

It's not even 6pm, and I'm ready to crash. To be fair, I haven't slept much in the last 36 hours and I've been on the go all day. And trying to figure out which bus to get and from where so I can go to Venice Beach and Santa Monica has defeated me. So I'm going to go to the zoo tomorrow instead.

Ooooh my GAWD that was so weird. It's 4.30am here and I'm basically nocturnal, and I've decided to stay up all night rather than do what's got me in this position and stay up really late/early and then falling asleep and waking up once the sun's gone down. So, I went to make a cup of tea. Normally, there's no-one around, because it's 4.30am and all the normal people are asleep. So, I've got into the habit of taking a book with me to read while the kettle boils and the tea brews.

Anyway, just as I turned the kettle on, a girl came in - I nearly died from that alone. But she stayed. And ate Weetabix. We said nooothing. I just sort of stood there awkwardly like a loser hipster thing who's like "Lol, I gots ma tiny little old book so I'm awesome, it's totes unputdownable and I'm awesome". It's not even old, it's from like 1986 or something but it looks all olde style-e. Now I feel like a dickhead, and I think she does too. She sat down at the table to eat her cereal with her back to me. Weirrrrrd.

^ Did you slap her? I would've gone right up to her and just started this convorsation about sweaters and cats, except I'd over annunciate the words and slap my thighs real hard and then slap her (not hard) on the shoulder or something.

...are you high?

No, I did not slap her. I read my book and left quietly, avoiding eye-contact. I'm now considering moving back to England so I never have to see her again.

Hmm. I've only ever seen her in the kitchen once before, and then I left really quickly because I was microwaving canned spaghetti and she came in and started cooking this like gourmet meal for herself and I felt bad. Then I put a dollop of questionable mayonnaise in mine, and felt a little better. Then saw far my "cooking" had fallen, and died a little inside.

Anyway, what would we talk about? "What are you doing up so late?" "Homework, you?" "Masturbating furiously while warming my feet up on my laptop battery." "...Coolio."
