I've been wanting to move there for ages. Decided on a whim but I've stuck with it haha. Also, there are about three times as many people in London as there are in all of Ireland. We're not big.
Should I stock up on the thermals? ha

they've had winters where the daytime high temperature doesn't go above 0^oF/-18^oC for a month straight. All of downtown is connected underground, though, from what I understand.

I don't mind the cold, so long as it's not damp. Hell yeah layers

a few isolated clusters, each connected to one or more subway lines.

a lot of the cool stuff is not part of this underground network,
even downtown.

I'm trying to get an international internship (in or around London or Paris) for after I graduate. The only way I'm able to do this is through this organisation that offers help for people like me, who want to do a creative internship. They offer grants that are big enough to pay for your stay and expenses like food and travel. The downside of doing it this way is that there's a selection procedure and not everyone gets in. You also have to make your own contacts within the companies you want to intern for, which isn't always too easy. I really hope I'll get in. It'll give me a second shot at getting a little more experience in the field I want to work in (was supposed to have this shot at the beginning of this schoolyear, but I pretty soon realised that it wasn't the right direction for me, and I've only now figured out what I really want to do. I won't be able to get a job in this work field without any relevant experience, though).

I was a little surprised last night that I got into clubs wearing Toms. I guess if there's 2 guys, and 4 pretty ladies, the bouncers don't care so much.

that always works. My 5 closest friends are all female, and I've gotten into places while in severe violation of the dress code just because I was with some of them.

^What are Toms? Also, yes. When I first turned 18 I was a jeans, band t-shirts and chucks kind of person, who would still get into clubs because of my two pretty and well dressed-up female flatmates.

There's a club I've yet to go to but I really need to go one of these days, I'll get in free because I've slept with the doorman and the main promoter...at the same time.

I've never been stopped at a club for how I'm dressed, and usually I'm just in jeans, tshirt and high tops. I think dress codes are usually just so they have an excuse to not let somebody in if they really just don't like the look of the person. Because when guys go to clubs actually dressed in like a proper shirt and shoes and whatnot they usually look like tools (In my narrow experience and age bracket of course).

It's been a while since I posted on here about how fucking hungry I am. I'M FUCKING HUNGRY. But I eated all my foods Literally all I had left was soup, and I had it for tea about eight hours ago. Had a Subway before that, which was awesome, but really should have saved my crisps or something. Ffs. I might die. Or eat my own arm, it's a toss-up between the two. Gnnfffgghh :'(

In related news, reading a list of the world's 50 most delicious food isn't helping one bit. I'm craving pad thai like a muthafucka, not to mention fried chicken, sticky honey ribs, some sort of delicious coconutty curry, custard tarts, fishfinger sandwiches, cheesecake, hamburgers and fajitas. Oh my Goddddddd.......

EDIT - And pizza!! And spicy BBQ-y chicken wings. And fish & chips. Jesus fuck.

@Shane: Here, I normally wear black jeans, dress shoes, and a shirt of some sort, or even a nice t-shirt if I can't be arsed with a shirt. I don't normally see people dressed much more uncasual. A lot of places here I've found are more anal about the shoes than the shirts, unless you have a massive stain on your  shirt then they won't let you in.
