So yeah... I just had the cleanest break-up ever. Can't say it ruined my day, because it didn't. It just is what it is, and I'm glad it happened in such a clean, no-feelings-hurt way.
I'm glad it went well for you, and I hope it stays that way :)

It's good to break up without hard feelings. I hope it's the best for both of you.

My landlord might be selling the most perfect flat I could possibly have found. I don't want to leave :(

165.000? Is he crazy, or is that price normal there? Because it sounds crazy here.
I hope he can't sell it.

I slipped back into my old nocturnal ways over the weekend, and after sleeping all day yesterday I was up all night. Got to about 6am and realised I couldn't face another minute indoors, so I went for a walk along the tow-path. Ended up doing four miles there and four back, and even managed to get away from the sound of the traffic for a little while. Not for very long though - I miss the countryside :( But it was a lovely walk, very grey and drizzly and just cold enough to be nice. I met lots of dogs and smiled at their owners. Also nearly got knocked over by a bloody idiot woman on a bicycle who ignored the sign telling her to dismount to go over a bridge I was, which annoyed me on my behalf and worried me on hers, because the reason they tell you to dismount is at least partly so you don't topple over the railing and into the river below. But whatevs, she'd probably survive if she did fall in one day, and it'd teach her a bloody lesson.

Kinda expensive indeed. But depending on how big this appartment is, this price is not very far from what you find here.

@Anne: I'm sorry to hear that. Even if it was clean, sometimes living without the person you spent so much of your time with can be a difficult transition.

Well, not gonna lie, but it is really fucking strange just knowing you're on your own, after spending 2 years and 7 months with a person. It is a weird feeling, that'll take some time getting used to...

Anyway, @everyone who responded to what I said: thanks for the huggles etc...  :love5:

I just watched the movie 'Hatchi' and cried my little heart out. I know it's an Akita, but I really love Huskies so I then spent ages on gumtree looking at husky pups. When I have a house, an established career and hours flexible for a dog, I'm getting a Husky.

That's my favourite among the other dog movies, oh and among the other Richard Gere movies.

Dogs are so noble and good creatures.

So a girl I know is a dancer in clubs, and she's turning DJ (well who isn't) and sent me an invite to a party she's involved in organising.
I have no problem with the fact that it's enforcing a dress code, it's just how incredibly sexist the dresscode description is:
"Women: Sexy and seductively sophisticated dresses accented with stilettos, red bottoms or sexy heels. The event exclusively caters to the most beautiful, mature & sexiest crowd in the city. Absolutely no athletic attire, ball caps or the similar allowed"

This kind of just screams: Ladies, you're here to be objectified, now be a good little gal and shake that booty.

I can't believe she's endorsing this, it's just gross. I think what's grossest is how they use words like 'accented' to try make it sound fancy instead of just...wrong.

This indeed is humiliating. And knowing that it'd been written by a woman, it's even more humiliating.

I don't think she wrote it, after re-reading the event it was created by men but she's DJing that night.
I received an invitation from her.
I'm considering saying something to her, I just can't believe she's endorsing it. She can dance in her underwear all she wants, power to her and all go go dancers but that's partially why I'm surprised she doesn't have an opinion about the objectification involved in the description.

I hate it when an anchorman reports the death/war/murder/rape etc. news with a huge smile on their face.

I hate when reporters cant hold their excitement when covering tragedies. I think they are on the same category.

^I've never seen that, tbh. Maybe English newsreaders are more restrained.

In other news, I just realised that I would totally rather be in Hufflepuff than anywhere else, but that my idiot little eleven-year-old self would have totally tried to wheedle her way into Ravenclaw. I don't wanna be in Ravenclaw :(

Even closer is Don Henley's 1982 radio-friendly "Dirty Laundry"...

We've got the bubble-headed bleached-blonde, comes on at 5
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam in her eye
It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry...

Not all of the anchormans behave like that. but there's this moron who keeps making silly comments and jokes and laughing by himself as he reports the news. Sometimes he manages to keep serious. But sometimes, like today, he does something silly like stumbling or dropping his pen on the floor etc., and afterwards he can't stop laughing.

Today he was reporting a news about a murder, it was plain tragedy. Yet he couldn't take himself from laughing before and after the video, over his pen dropping down. when the  video was over, he said something like "now that i picked my pen back off the floor, we can go on" and kept laughing. I wanted to pick my TV and throw it oout from the window.

The channel he's working for is a quite serious and essential one, and the only reason they can't fire this asshole is that he's quite the ass-kisser of the government.
