I wanted them to syringe it, or wash it, but Drs don't do it here unless it's a hugely ongoing problem because it can burst your eardrum and they've been getting sued left right and centre.

The dr basically looked in my ear, said 'yep, it's a wax build up. Put olive oil in your ear 3 times a day and if it doesn't clear up in 3 weeks, a nurse will syringe it.'

3 weeks is a fucking long time to not be able to hear before anyone will do anything about it.

Well, counting from when you reported us your problem, how long it has been? I remember it has been an while, right? More than 3 weeks, Id guess.

When i was 10 i got my right ear washed with pressure water, i haven't had any problems with my ear drum. In fact my hearing got so sensitive that i used to wake up to a very little noise.
I don't know what you mean with 'syringe' though, if it's the vacuum cleaning, i've heard that might be dangerous for the ear drum. But if you mean the pressure water cleaning, it's not a big deal.

It's just, as far as i remember, dr had given me an ear drop and i had to use it for a week before they washed inside my ear. When i asked him why he wouldn't do it right off, he told me that the wax required to get soften before they wash it.

And it clearly isn't nonsense if thy are refusing to do it. It happened to a few people, one sued successfully and others followed suit (a little legal humour for you, there).

I'm over working with the company I with with, I don't feel that there's the respect given that is deserved towards their workers. So I'm looking to enrol in a journalism course which starts in a few months. And if I can get the money together, then I will most likely still be able to go to the UK with my friends when they do.

Yeah it sounds like a legal and medical humour. I've never heard of someone who's gone deaf because of such an operation, here. That would be one of the easiest operation could be done by an otolaryngologist, and if there's a possibility they could fail it, yeah you're right to wait for it to clear up by itself. I hope it clears up soon.
