it's soooo irritating.  i mean, c'mon!  yeah, i had to cancel last week because i was stuck at work until 12:30 and did not feel like getting home at 1, showering, and then partying after a 12 hour shift...but, we rescheduled (or so i thought) for tonight!  damn.  ah well.  weeds will keep me entertained once it's done downloading.

To expand on that thought: skyscanner.net + couchsurfing.com = very happy, better-travelled and slightly less broke Ronan.

Next four weeks are going to be travel!

1)A week in the West of Ireland with my grandmother; nothing but hiking in the mountains, swimming at the beach and, if the weather sucks, reading good books. I need some serious time out.

2)A week in my favourite city, Edinburgh - Fringe Festival, couchsurfing, partying like crazy, walking in the Highlands, and of course, a few shows by Ms Palmer herself.

3)Two weeks in France/Spain/Basque country - walking through the Pyrenees, from France, down through Spain and halfway to Santiago de Compostela. Last two days will be in Madrid, meeting some friends and partying. If only I had more time, I could finish the pilgrimage and stay longer in Madrid...unfortunately, repeat exams start on September 10th, and I have a lot of work to do for them. In 5 days. Hmm.

After that, house-searching in Dublin, maybe a quick job to pick up some pre-college cash, and then it's my sister's wedding, Fresher's week and college again. Perhaps a weekend in Berlin, if I can afford it...

my contact lenses are getting all blurry and i have to keep refocusing my eyes every two seconds in order to see. and it's a pain in the ass.

I bought a ticket for a ballet.

After doing so, I realized I should buy one for my mother, too-- it would make a great birthday gift.

The damn site won't let me get her ticket until "tomorrow" [does that mean Saturday or Sunday?!  it's after midnight...], because I already charged my card, and they are trying to avoid accidental multiple-buys, I think.

Now I am PANIC-ATTACKING that I won't be able to snag the seat next to mine!  Seriously.  I feel very, very, very tense, and my breathing is rather strange.


I mean, the tickets aren't flying, because the show isn't until April.  And luckily, I'm front row center section two in from the end; she would be on the end, and most people don't go to the ballet alone.  But still.  Oh my god, if someone gets her ticket, I'm going to punch the internet in the face!!!

p.s. i have a slight obsession with the art of ballet. i love to watch ballet. i've never really dance it but i love it! even just to watch people stretch before they dance. ahhh.

The Bolshoi are in London at the moment. I really really want to go.. but I'm not sure I'll be able to fit it in. I'd love to see Svetlana Zakharova (formerly of the Kirov/Marinsky, currently principal at the Bolshoi.. that's her above^ in the red tutu) dance Kitri in Don Quixote.. which I think she IS scheduled to do. Gah, I LOVE her. She has THE most amazing technique.. her extension is just jaw-dropping.
