Fundraising, do-gooding, karma boosting, etc.
« on: August 23, 2012, 11:21:19 AM »

A place to talk about (and link to) righteous causes, appeals.

Starting with Sara.. http://www.indiegogo.com/cancerwhispers (urgent appeal, not long to go.)

And (you may have noticed Neil Gaiman re-tweeting this link) .. http://www.indiegogo.com/PeSla-LakotaHeartland

And one more.. http://www.giveforward.com/helpmehope

Go.

Help.

Let's Build A Goddamn Tesla Museum.  :angel5:

I run the Public Service Announcements at an all-volunteer low-power FM radio station.

We run national/syndicated and locally-produced news & talk during the workday, and the
rest of the time our DJs program ALL their own music.  WRIR   :headbang:

Fans of the actor Tom Hiddleston (whose 32nd birthday it is today) have raised a fucking buttload of money for UNICEF. Good for them.

Aiming to raise $25,650 to help babies on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota (worst infant mortality rates in the US (300% higher than anywhere else in the country), highest levels of poverty with 97% of the population living below the poverty line.)

Only 10 days left on this one and pretty far short of its funding goal. Could really use a signal boost. Tweets, Facebook-likes, mentions, etc cost nothing. Please?

Very little time left to help the Lakota babies and mothers of Pine Ridge...

>>>>> http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/268593/x/994497 <<<<<

They accept Paypal and £-to-$ exchange rates currently means $5 = just £3.30ish. Just FYI. Every little helps.

Awesome writer-comics person (of 'Lenore' fame) Roman Dirge was injured by a hit-and-run driver in Hollywood on February 26th. His leg is messed up. He's in Cedars Sinai recovering from surgery to put it back together. His girlfriend Amber was also injured. Their medical expenses will be huge.

How you can help... http://www.giveforward.com/pleasehelpromancoverhismedicalexpenses

Can't send money? Go for the "send hugs" option.  :love9:
