Inspired by Lost
« on: September 20, 2012, 07:01:37 PM »

Howdy! This is my first post so please bear with me.

It seems that most thing shared are more straightforward and portrait-y. I'm not much for portraits so here is a bit of back story and hopefully I'm not explaining it too much.

I participated in the #7imageupload and that sort of put a face to the song Lost for me. Um, the person I lost was my grandmother; she passed away when I was young (12ish). This song made me question how she has made me what I am and what she would think of me now.

This is pretty much the first thing I've ever done with a particular purpose (other than relieving time/angst). Honestly I'm not even sure that I like the way it looks. I mostly like the way it makes my eyes prickle and makes me think of my grandmother. It is also the only painting that I've share with anyone other than my husband. I am a bit terrified.

hey there! welcome and thanks for sharing your art.
this piece obviously has far more personal meaning to you, but either way it's really nice seeing something this expressive. The bright colours especially make me think of happy memories that hang around even after people are gone.

Thanks so much for the welcome! I've been kind of slinking around the archives and there are so many crazy talented people. It is a little intimidating trying to break into what is obviously a very close nit community. Everyone seems really friendly though!

I could post a phot if you'd like. Although, I would imagine that is the sort of thing you would want to see for yourself.
