Looking at the commentary on this story this morning, I have seen exactly NO ONE
with anything nice to say about her, beyond what is 'required' for, say, foreign heads
of state.  From the news media - bare facts, this happened, that happened.  But far
more from normal people - the nicest thing I've seen has been essentially "she was an
evil bitch, but she does have a family and it's too soon to be calling her an evil bitch
on the internet just yet..."

If I were British, I'd be in the street singing this:

Some people on my Facebook said something like "Couldn't my day start any better?". But ironically, they were grief about Hugo Chaves. Oh, the irony.

Some other people had already shared photos of her with the tags "#hellhereicome" "#privatefuneral".

I never read anything good about her, either.

Well, she was part of the research team that invented soft-serve ice cream; that could be good or bad depending on your taste.

I'd say her life peaked right there.

This made me laugh.

When challenged to suggest exactly what kind of work they would suggest for the late Mrs Thatcher, ATOS replied, “Well she could always join the panel of Loose Women. No one would ever notice.”

I'm really surprised by the reactions. I don't know much about her life or career but some of my friends posted grieving posts on facebook today and a lot of Czech politicians says nice things about her. I feel a bit stupid that I had no idea she was so hated.

I knew she wasnt one of the most beloved politicians, but I dont know much about Britain`s modern history, so Im not sure what she did or changed to be nicknamed Iron Lady.

Apparently there was a Twitter hashtag making the rounds #nowthatchersdead
and people were seeing it and thinking Cher had died....

The "Iron Lady" was applied by Pravda if I remember correctly. They intended it as an insult but something was lost in translation on arriving here where we think of the "Iron Duke" (Wellington" or the "Iron Chancellor" (Bismarck)

Myself and a friend broke open a bottle of (cheap) Champagne to celebrate the death of this evil woman, which is a somewhat widespread feeling particularly in this part of the country.

I was trying to find an article form Murray N. Rothbard I read (in portuguese) yesterday, but couldnt find. It was very interesting.

Anyway, what Ive read and heard about the things she done, it sounds like things could have been worse in some aspects. But I cant say for sure, because I wasnt alive, aware, or lived in the uk during her years.
