INTRODUCING: AMANDALANDA (AND FAMEHOUSE)
« on: December 04, 2014, 02:20:39 PM »

Hello Shadowbox!

Nick, Nikki, and Arielle from Fame House here, Amanda's digital & website sidekicks. In the months leading up to the release of The Art of Asking, we’ve been working on a little something for longtime fans and those brand new to AFP that we’d like to share with all of you first.

May we present: A Walk Through Amandalanda: http://amandalanda.amandapalmer.net/.

In short, Amandalanda is an interactive timeline, an ongoing storybook of photos, music, videos, blogs and links about all things Amanda/Dresden Dolls. It’s a vehicle to drive new book readers to discover who Miss Amanda Fucking Palmer is, and a scrapbook of important milestones throughout her career / personal history.

We would like Amandalanda to be a living, breathing thing that is updated on a regular basis with recommendations from YOU:

What did we miss?
What should/shouldn’t be included?
Where would you point your dearest friends unfamiliar with Amanda’s life and art?
What else do you want to share?

Please use this forum to help us develop the best AFP timeline possible! We’ll be here, on the sidelines, plugging away and taking requests. Stop by and say “hi” whenever you’d like :)

I think her performance on Glastonbury last year and the Daily Mail article that inspired the song should be up there too. Also on the side a miniature timeline where you can quickly go through the years, would come in handy, just so you don't have to browse through all of it if you want to revisit a particular year.

I'm really impressed with Amandalanda, both the tech and the content. It adds a missing dimension to the book. When I read the book, I felt that the Dolls were not given enough time, but now the band is represented.

I agree with Nikos about the Daily Mail video and will think about other things I'd like to see. Overall though, THANK YOU!  :headbang:

i'm quite happy with what's there, so far.

add a pic of the Eight Foot Bride.

add a's thespian pursuits,
maybe with a version of the sad and happy theatre masks as the icon:

 * the shadowbox collective

 * The Onion Cellar

 * With The Needle That Sings In Her Heart
    (there may still be a full video of this out there.
     Pope coordinated it.)

 * Cabaret

 * The Bed Store

I believe you should add the On An Unknown Beach video since she mentions the story of the lady who lent her the wedding dress she wore for it! :)

Just got the email from Amanda and am checking this out for the first time. It's gorgeous and has so much stuff I've missed over the years, so thank you!

A couple of small notes:

The video "The Kickstarter (documentary trailer)" is now saying it's Private (and therefore cannot be played).

Also, in this large post on the left "Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra – Theater is Evil" - the album title is spelled wrong. It's "Theatre"

It's nice. Though it is missing my favorite song (Judy Blume).

What about The Robellion of 2009?

Who can forget Amanda and Zoe live from Rob's living room?

Lentower has it right. I definitely think the theater pieces should be included. (Especially Needle.)
