Amanda Palmer t-shirts?
« on: August 23, 2008, 08:24:36 PM »

I was wondering if anyone has purchased any of the women's WKAP t-shirts?

I would like to order the women's white burnout t-shirt, but I'm not sure whether to get a medium or a large.

So has anyone bought one? What does it REALLY look like? What size did you get, and were you satisfied?

Thanks dudes!

It's a really thin and soft fabric.  They're cut very slim, although they do tend to stretch once you've worn them for a while.  I find them to be similar in sizing to the American Apparel girlie shirts.

Here's a photo by Pixie which gives a good idea of what it really looks like:

you know what I think sucks? that the cool colours are only for girls.
I really love the one on the right, but the website said it's a womens tee.

because they're made for a woman's body... and I don't have one
they're usually a bit stretchy too, and I don't like stretchy

i like the white one, but the slim fit tees in white are usually a bit too see through for my comfort.

I am really interested in this conversation since we are working on merch for the world tour.

The conventional wisdom is that guys wouldn't wear the color combination on the right (blue/purply pink)--- or any bold/strange color combos like that.  Also, there was some concern that the design was too feminine to sell well to guys.

Thoughts?  Guys, what are you t-shirt preferences?  (Girls too!  I want to know!)

They are brand new, for the August US tour.

i like the white one, but the slim fit tees in white are usually a bit too see through for my comfort.

The white tee above is actually a "burnout" tee, which means it's put through a process that makes it vintage-look.

Here's what it looks like on a model (before printing):

Would it be helpful to you all if, on the JSR website, you could see the shirts on actual people?  Would that make you feel more confident when purchasing?

Who's idea was it to apply conventional wisdom to Dresden Dolls fans?
I don't know about the US or other places, but I see guys walking around here (in Belgium) in bright colours all the time. Especially younger guys.

For me, it doesn't have to be as flashy as pink and blue, but I do prefer something a little more interesting than black & white. I actually don't wear any bandshirts because they always have such boring colours. but, the Dresden Dolls shirts are pretty fantastic.

oh, that reminds me of another question. will there be Dolls merch at the shows in Europe, or is it Amanda solo merch only? because there's some DD stuff I like, but I can't order it online. (don't have a credit card)

I've got a spare in the garage, but she's been there, without refrigeration for a couple of weeks.

Still, if you can arrange shipping, I've go no plans for her.

that would actually be pretty spiffy.

i've seen a couple of people curious to see how the sizes actually fit.
