International Transgender Day of Remembrance
« on: November 20, 2008, 08:16:23 PM »

Every year, people are killed for simply and unapologetically being who they are, just because they don't fit in with mainstream society's idea of gender.

Today, November 20, is the day we remember those people, and also make sure it doesn't happen again, that we all are better allies and supporters to the transgender community, who are often on the very far fringes of acceptance.

A list of transgender people who were killed in 2008:

I am going to a thing for this on Sunday.
It's horribly sad.
