And yeah. It was awful. I use this stuff.. redken #5 or something? They call it a spray starch. It activates with heat, so once I've got it in my hair it's pretty set. But that means I'm curling it when it's damp, hence the horrible horrible burning smell. But it does last for ages. I can sleep on it and it will still be styled when I wake up, although not as nicely so.

Wow that sounds way better than hairspray. So its made to be used while your curling instead of after?

Why are you wearing those goggles (or whatever)? I have a friend who uses them to paint miniatures for things like D&D, so he can do the detail work.

You can actually use it for any sort of styling, it will hold curls or waves or flat ironed hair like mad. But yeah, you spray it in while your hair is still damp (I do it while mine is dry because apparently I can't follow directions) and then style your hair like normal. It's heat activated, so it holds the style really amazingly, and you don't need hairspray. I overuse it so my hair comes out really stiff, but if you used it with a light hand I imagine it would come out really nice.
Here's a link to their website. I got it from my salon, but I think you can buy it at Ulta too. It might be kind of pricey.. I bought it because I don't style my hair very often so it was worth it.

Sounds like it might be worth it though! I rarely do my hair & I never flat iron because it is already so straight. Thanks for the tip! I'm kind of excited to find some and play with it now!
