Today a picture popped up on my bands website from our perfomance last week. I like it because, well I am in it and not looking ridiculous for once (I'm the bassdrummer on the right). And an awesome member from our band is standing next to me (front/left). He is really cool, picks me up for rehearsals, and he is just sweet and funny. Basically someone cool to have around.

Oh man, that's awesome! In our band photos I always end up looking really weird, haha. I love love love your uniforms, too. Ours are so boring. And the drummers don't get the gauntlets, and I really want to wear them, haha.

So was this a competition? And do you perform indoors/on fields?

Niels, now I think we should visit Belgium and perform there a few times! That way you also don't have to travel that far to see me

This was at a Tattoo (not sure if they call it that there too... I know they do call it that around England/Scotland (hence Edinburgh National Tattoo..something like that)). And I am glad you like the uniforms! We just got them february this year and we are very happy with them. I love the gauntlets too lol. We perform outdoor on fields (or in this case, a square in a city)

It's a predicate nominative following the elliptical "This is..." [or words to that effect].

However, since it is merely a compound noun, with no explicit verb, subject/verb/object
agreement is really something of a moot point.

This is clearly one of those (very rare) situations where "proper" grammar is just wrong...

As an alternative, one could say, for example, "This is a picture of me", thereby
neatly avoiding (in English anyway) the question of case.

Hold on. I understand that the original phrase lacked the verb we need to settle this, but I think the post is a "this is" assumed type of situation. That aside, are you suggesting that, by placing the first person pronoun in a list, the subject form can be used when the list is used as a compound object?

That's crazy talk.
