yes, people. i regularly start sentences with "And" or "But" and that last bit WAS indeed a joke. It was a joke pointed at myself.
I should go backwards and repeat. I see people get angry at grammar/spelling mistakes all the time. Politely pointing out where someone makes one of these mistakes is ok by me.
Being<<and that is a grammar mistake too! on purpose again!>> a "jerk" about it when it doesn't pertain to the conversation in the post only serves to derail and ...it gives the flavor of being picked on right in the middle of a conversation.
So, I thought I'd post this thread so those who get upset about grammar and spelling issues could vent. Simple as that. <<"Simple as that." is a phrase, not a sentence.
I've had friends who go nuts with anger over mistakes in this area. I, personally, make many mistakes. I also concur with the person who said that in a "casual" atmosphere, it doesn't seem to apply, while she/he is a grammar "nazi" outside of it. (hopefully at work or with official documents)
This is just a place to vent, in the hopes that someone might learn something along the way. Also, it's a way of communicating the grammar/spelling issues you have so that it's possible to avoid having to say it in another thread. Is it possible? I don't have any idea.
I respect and am glad for everyone's post in here.
