To anyone who is going to our little meet up tomorrow (so only like, a couple of people, really. But still):
Most of the tube lines are going to be down this weekend so you shoooould go to www.tfl.gov.uk and figure out how you're going to get there, instead of making the mistake I usually make of heading out without checking and hoping for the best.

i wish i was creative and had more time on my hands.
i would love to create a costume that looked like something a king or queen would wear in the playing cards....

and then put all hearts/spades/clubs/diamonds on it.

but i don't have anything robey or cool like that.
and i'm not creative.
and i even if i was i definitely don't have any time to devote to the project.

sigh.

tip: maybe this will help: find something that's close to what you want in a cheap second hand store and modify it ;)

I doubt I'd be able to do anything like that, seeing as I wouldn't have long as my sewing machine is more or less unusable until the end of the month, but I could probably help you get something together?

well that would obviously be amazing! but i mean i can't expect you to make me a whole regal outfit. and i really don't know how i could help though since we don't actually live in the same place, and i probably won't be able make it down to london before the day. but if you think of something that is less time consuming and not too difficult i would appreciate it muchly!  ;D

Yeah...We can talk about ideas and stuff...Umm. Obviously I am going to need you to pay me back for materials if I end up doing this...That probably won't be much. Fabric and such is dead cheap near my house. And you could always take it out of the amount I owe you for the ticket (I know this shouldn't be that much of a concern yet but I am flat broke pretty much all the time and need to know these things before I start). We must discuss idea-y things. But yeah...I can probably do this.

yea of course that's not a problem. i don't know how much materials cost but between the materials and the time it takes that will probably be at least the price of the ticket right? in which case don't worry about paying me back at all.
btw have you heard from the person about the other ticket? cos otherwise i will post it on here.

as for ideas, well i just kind of thought that the whole playing card thing would look really good if i actually was dressed like they are on playing cards... queen being the obvious choice cos it's the only female... but then i realized that dressing as a 15th century queen is not very easy. but i suppose it could be approximated with some cool material...
however equally if you have a completely different idea for what would go with the mask do tell me. especially if it would be easier to make.

I just texted the person who might want the ticket.
I'll try and think of something soon and let you know and then...yeah. It'll all work out...That idea may be a little tricky as I can't start it like, now, because...my sewing machine is missing some important parts and I can only go get them in a week or so (I won't have much time to get stuff done, but I will have enough).
I mean, I could probably get something close-ish to the top part done (but only sort of) but then you'd have half a costume and I don't know what else would go with it.

I'll message Robin and see what he says he thinks should go with it. I was sort of struggling with ideas for my costume but then he told me what he thought should go with that mask and now it's all a bit clearer.

And yes, my friend would like the ticket. She can pay you on the night but...this concerns me as I've no idea how she'll get it because I don't think she's gonna get there early or anything. I guess it shall just be a hoping-it-works-out-in-the-end thing, because she does want it.
