so those of us who purchased the vinyl, when and how do we get  our code for downloading the mp3s?

No clue, I just went and paid the two dollars on bandcamp
on my debit card's monthly statement, under the payment for the vinyl there is a code that i'm guessing it goes for the free download, i just don't know where to enter it.maybe they'll provide us with another link kinda like the wkap bonus cd.

i only purchased the vinyl knowing that i'll get the free mp3s too and since i wanted to support the release.i wouldn't want to spend more money on that though

I'd wait to hear something official about the mp3s, but honestly... it's $1.98. You can find that on the street.

My Amanda/MBD 7" arrived in the mail today, cracked. It looked like it was packed properly, but when i took the 7" out, it was nearly broken in two. I really don't know who to contact, as I can't find any merch-help email address on their web site. Anyone know who I should contact?

I got mine! (however, i had to be SHOWN how to use the cd-player-for-big-black-cds!)

Hmm. Its a grower.
I do love Amanda's cover performance. Outstanding and sensitive/moody as always. O0
I dont really *get* the Murder By Death version of Another Year - im not keen on covers that dont use anything of the original tune/chords. I'll have another listen of course, but those are my first impressions.

Nice unusual piece for my little collectibles box :)

They definitely do use parts of the original (past that of the lyrics) but fair enough...I don't want to argue about chords and notes and all that jazz (I hate when people say "well it's technically very much the same"; if it sounds different it sounds different)...

I feel if you're not going to make it your own don't do it at all. If there's no potential for doing it better, it need not be done -- and just doing it straight up the same way has no chance of "doing it better"...Murder by Death or Mindless Self Indulgence always brings something to the songs that they cover and I appreciate that -- I'm so sick of hack bands playing a song fast and it being called "an edgy take on" or "a cover with punk sensibility" that somehow garners a ton of attention...

I have to agree with Sean on the whole covers should not be replicas deal. If a song is good as it is, you don't need to replicate it. You can make it your own. MBD did a fantastic job of that. My favorite covers are like "Bring the Pain" one by MSI. Totally different but totally amazin.

I totally agree that if you're going to cover something you should make it your own. Definitely. 100%. I just personally am not overly keen on what they have done with it in their own style. But then that's just my musical opinion - im sure there are people who are not DD/AFP fans may not like the style in which Amanda & Brian have covered songs in the past.
However, even though its not in my personal choice of style, i do like that Amanda has done that collaboration, and it IS nice to hear other people's takes on the WKAP album. I think its the first re-working i have heard?
