went through the last filled notebook. there's lots and lots of really good ideas and half-finished songs in it. I'd completely forgotten most of them while dealing with the newest stuff.

no excuse to not be working on songs now...and no excuse for a long while.  :)

Anyway, you're just walking around with these teeth in your vagina and you think it's normal cos like, who do you ask about that shit? Then, one day you go to have sex with someone & they're all "WHY DOES YOUR VAGINA HAVE A TOOTH IN IT?" That'd be damn awkward.

finished a new one last night.  :)

the melody was giving me fits singing-wise. had to slow it down to country-ballad speed to make it manageable.

not that that's a bad thing, mind you - I just envisioned it being a fair bit faster.

^  I get that problem.

I'm not a singing person so I write lyrics that I can "think" into the melody.

I could slow the songs down but I don't want to. I could trim the lyrics but I don't want to. It might work as a "speed rap" but I don't want to.

One of the many reasons for never finishing music...

I spent some more time with it tonight and made it work perfectly by pushing the first note of said vocal melody back a full beat. worked like a charm...that took damn near an hour to figure out, lol!

I tried it at a few different tempos, and it worked equally well at every one.  :)

2:30 AM, and I get an idea of a verse to go along with a chorus I'd already had (I'd scrapped most of the previous words). 90 minutes later, I had the whole thing done...but it's only about 9:45 AM now and I've been awake for an hour. So tired.

 :sleepy5:

...love the song, though.

:)

update: spent 2 hours singing it over and over. thank god it's somewhat easier to sing than...well, the last several. oh, and I haven't had so much as a nap all day. i need to go the fuck to sleep!

wrote a new song over last Thursday and Friday nights.  :)

ever write something, and the look at the words and say, "I can't say that out loud! fuck!"?

I didn't even wanna deal with the completed song for a day and a half...but, when I finally did sit down to learn it, it just flowed out nearly perfect the first time, and that's rare for me.

There's a demo song uploaded and although I'm not to happy with the production (I did it myself). I like it generally.

The electro-acoustic guitar pisses me off immensely, but other than that, j'aime.
