The best place for artificial flowers (in london)?
« on: January 26, 2009, 06:18:25 PM »

Does anyone know of any good places in London to get cheap, yet reasonably convincing, artificial flowers and foliage??!
I'm hoping to make some garden-themed fairy wings to wear for the electric ballroom & ths will probably require a fair amount of artificial leaves. I also plan to be handing out flowers, amongst other items, & i am but a poor student.
Any advice most gratefully welcomed!  O0

I don't think that you can get reasonably convincing ones that cheap, but for just cheap ones (which I do not think could look that bad), try places like Poundland and 99p stores and other bargain store places...There's a place in Camden that has fake roses (Raliel bought a tonne of them there and they were fairly alright)...it's like...£1 for a thing with about 4 or 5 of them...

Ah -that's really quite good!
I bought some fake roses in one of the many, many pound shops in ilford a little while back, just to brighten up my room, & they were £1 per rose if i remember rightly. Which would just add up rather quickly if buying roses en masse!
I was thinking i could maybe hand out little ladybird buttons too - i've found someone who makes all sorts of garden-insect-based-buttons in grantham.
I am rambling; I apologise.  :uglystupid2:

rambling is good if it leads to something good...... I might be able to get quite a few of the little ladybirds from work as well

p.s. with the fake flowers, it is useful to buy big ones from pound shops etc and trim off the individual flowers.....

eBay's great for that kind of thing, but delivery time might be an issue now...  :-\
