I also remember when they fucked up the metal category and Metallica lost with the black album against that flute playing douche. :violent1:

... yeah... that's pretty fucked....

Yeah, until Metallica went and proved that Jethro Tull was in fact more metal than them. Thick as a Brick and Crest of a Knave are more heavy than anything Metallica has put out for 15 years now.
I love their newest album Death Magnetic. I think they really redeemed themselves. They went through a hard time during the 90's. Saw them live. Killer performance as always.

I think the new album sounds way too forced, but it is an improvement. I actually think that the next one might be the real redeemer for them in my eyes.

I just hate how people always bag on Jethro Tull over that Grammy BS, instead of directing the hate to the fools that run the Grammys.

I was pissed, that Robert Plant and Alison Kraus won album of the year when both Radioheads and Lil Waynes were better. but the M.I.A shit was amazing. and yes the grammys more or less suck at this point, I just wanted to see what other people thought. Jonas Brothers should curl up and die of AIDs.

Now now....   let's look at that scientifically:

                                                      Heavy Metal Instruments
                             Metallica                                                 Jethro Tull
                              drums, check                                           drums, check
guitars NOT heavy, nor metal                     ditto
keyboards... not much, and they're              yeah, some, what about it?
                                                mostly plastic
                                                                                           flute...  heavy, metal instrument...
                              ...[crickets]

...And so, Jethro Tull wins, two heavy metal instruments to one (Three if you count grand piano.)
Get over it.   They're just lucky they weren't up against, say, Fleetwood Mac and the USC marching band.

Say, do they still have Grammy Awards?  I wonder when they're on...

idk if I would say pfft to Master Of Puppets, but Ride The Lightning is the best Metallica album.

I love all their albums really. Master is my favorite because it was the first CD I have ever bought. Ride the lightening is a great album, but man... Master of Puppets.  :love3:

Take that back, NOW!

Ride The Lightning is the best Metallica Album there will ever be, but Master is a Masterpiece, it is rivaled only by the raw awesomeness of Kill 'Em All.  Justice comes in fourth then Metallica died...end of story.

the only two songs on there that are worth listening to are "master of puppets" and "battery."
the other 6 never caught my full attention.
