I do loves a bit of the Sheena Machine-a xD I think I'm a bit of a wuss for head-shaving tbh - though maybe really short (though not shaved-short) at the sides and back and then a sort of short sexy mess on top or something. I wish you could get bed-hair as a haircut. I do well at bed-hair.

So, when I cut my hair, I think I want to put a bit of blue dye in it, most likely as tips. However, I need some advice: What's the best dye/bleach I should use? The issue with hair dye (for me) is that my hair is a very strange texture, which is something that I didn't realize until I started dying my hair a few years ago. My hair never takes to dye right, and usually does one of two things: the dye either doesn't take and lasts for about three washes, or it burns my hair. I remember the first time I did blue (many years ago. I was in sixth grade), I felt a burning sensation in my bangs and I went and told my mom. We spend about ten minutes watching my burned hair go down the drain of the kitchen sink.

And that's the story of how I got bangs for the first time. ;D

I would not like to re-live that experience (especially since I will have cut my hair at that point), and would like to do this in the healthiest, safest way possible. I've tried going to the hair dresser to get my hair dyed but, again, the dye never really took (except black, after we dyed it for almost an entire year). Are their any recommended bleaches, dyes or treatments that would work on my hair? And if you don't think blue would work for me, what color should I put in (if any color at all)?

By the way: my natural color (the color it almost is now) is this...

yea your best bet would be to get it done if your hair is that temperamental, just call before hand and tell them your concerns about your hair, they SHOULD be able to help you out

I kinda wanna do something with my hair...I'm getting it cut in a couple of weeks, and I know how I'm cutting it, but I wanna colour it, nothing radical, but something different, problem is that I don't know what, and whatever I do won't really surprise anyone...

This is what it looks like:

Thats a kinda bad photo, but you get the gist of it...

I have. It still doesn't work, even after she's known my hair for years. x _ x

Yesterday someone at my synagogue said, "I like your hair" and I said "Thanks. It's getting a little too pink for me so I need to dye it darker purple." They responded "Well, it is almost Halloween."  I found this really insulting and inspiring at the same time. They think my hair is some kind of weird, artificial joke. What they don't realize is that it's real. It represents an authentic part of who I am. This reminds me of a great Buffy Halloween episode when Spike says that vampires don't go out then because it's amateur night.  On Halloween in the US,   people dress up as who they want to be. On that night they seek to transgress their straight, normal lives. My hair is a statement that I am stepping outside those boundaries and trying to make my inner life match my outward appearance to become more whole and authentic. 24x7x365.

Then another person, who is a famous rabbi and author, said "I like your hair. I used to have a cobalt blue streak".

DON'T DREAM IT. JUST BE IT.

I'm trying to remember what this group of rich people said about my hair...I was serving them ice cream and oh yes they complimented my then pink hair and I mentioned I was probably going blue next, with which the woman replied "Well you're just a free spirit then aren't you?" And I just looked at her funny because I've never heard it said so snobbishly like it's a bad thing.
And then as a I was hacking away at their frozen treat they asked me 'what I wanted to be when I grew up' and I said I was working towards being a lawyer.
I loved the look on their faces. All the men were lawyers.

I'm going through yet another of my 'wanna cut my hair' phases... of which I experience about twenty a year!? :-\

For like two years I've been toying with the idea of chopping it off like Shannyn Sossamon but I'm not sure if it'd suit me.. There should be like a rewind option for haircuts just so I can seeee  :buck2:
I'm fairly happy with my hair atm, but I always wanna change it..

...while I'm at it... nom!!

EDIT:

Oh, oh, oh!!! Now I'm also thinking of Mishkin from Birdeatsbaby..
Namely in The Trouble video..

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/tjuBV4NbCng" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/tjuBV4NbCng</a>

This may suit me more..
Thoughts?

sarah doll....based of pics i remember seeing of you i'd vote the 2nd one-it's like a lopsided version of a haircut i used to have lol-the thing about both of those types of hairs (especially if you're planning on styling it the same way) is if your hair will do it, for example my hair will not do pretty much anything i say...but if your hair is easily moldable? (idk that's the best word i can think of) then you could really do either, but the 2nd one i think would look better

well finally got in for a haircut. Just had them neaten up the backs and sides and not touch the top at all. Once I explained that I'm wanting to grow my hair out, I got the trim I was looking for. However, when she did the eyebrow trim, she trimmed a little close, so I'm stuck with eyebrows where the hairs are no longer than about 1/16" (Approx 1.5 mm). So, while there is enough hair there for there to be a definite brow, it's barely a whisper where you can hardly tell the color of the hair.

My hair will obey.. sometimes.. Darn free will! I've decided on the 2nd after watching the video about fifteen times yesterday! :D hehe.. I may go Shannyn in the Spring or Summer, I'll ponder it some. Think I'm going to get it cut this weekend :) Yay! Love getting my hair cut! I just have to describe it right :P There will be diagrams!
And thankies :)
