I wanna add some pink or purple or something but I'll (hopefully) be transferring to a new school soon and I'm not sure how that would go over...

Ah. Got it. Yeah, see if I did that, nobody would ever see it. If I'm spending that kind of money... ;)

I'm tired of redying my purple streaks all the time and I want to dye them with a more permanent, burgundy brown color for the winter. Does anyone know the best way to do this? It's bleached and then colored with Special Effects. Do I have to let it fade out to pink/blond before I color with regular drug store hair dye?

Thanks!

Pravana Color !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It won't ever fade out and its hard to bleach out like seriously.

I am a professional stylist and this is always what I use I hate manic panic and special effects and raw they all do not last.

Pravana is the way to go :D

Thanks for the advice. I need to think about if it's the maintenance that's bugging me or the color. It sounds like a good product. I see so many people in Boston now with intense color in their hair that I was wondering if there was a more permanent professional product.

Although, it reminds me of an ad a local salon sent out around St. Valentine's Day that had a coupon to have your pubic hair shaved and dyed into a red heart...

I absolutely hate manic panic, but I find that special effects is decent. Ive been using pure red color enhancing clairol for awhile and that lasts about a month, but I dislike having the same color for more than a month. I get bored.

Pravana looks amazing!
1) do you know how well it works with unbleached hair?
2) is it sold at sallys or anything besides the actual salon? I always find with the amount of money I pay to get my hair dyed at a salon, I can do a comparable if  not better job by myself at home.

Things to fade it out:
- wash your hair more often... stop using conditioner if possible
- don't use any type of color protectant
- drench your hair in vinegar and let it sit for an hour or two... wash afterwards (doesnt do much)
- wash your hair with dish detergent (the powdery kind)... make sure to condition after this

I had special effects purple and did all of the stuff mentioned above. after, I dyed it a strawberry orange concoction that i made with a tube of red clairol color enhancer and a tube of clairol strawberry blonde. my hair turned out with different shades of orange and yellow (because I didnt bleach, but I did keep the color on 2+ hours), but overall it went through a dramatic change from dark purple to bright orange.

I really need a haircut. I can't decide if I should get my bangs trimmed or let them grow out though.

I'm so glad there is hair stripping advice. I was thinking of using color oops but it's mad expensive and I'm, well, mad poor.

I love the blue, but I'm ready to be red.

Never use bright colors on unbleached hair unless of course your hair is a level 8 or higher which basically you need to be blonde already.
Its sold at cosmoprof and Beauty Allience but these are professional only stores.

You can however buy them on ebay!
