I found an amazing lady who cuts my hair at the local Great Clips. For those of you who don't know what that is, Great Clips is a chain of haircutting salons for people who don't have a high-maintenance cut, or want anything too special because the school doesn't really teach them much, so it's a dice roll every time you get your hair cut.
Anyway, apparently this lady used to work at some Paul Mitchell studio, but was fired for attitude so now she works at Great Clips. She is the only person I trust with cutting my hair because she cuts my hair perfectly every time and is the only person I've ever found who will cut it dry. THIS IS FOR $15. AMEN.

I'm tired of redying my purple streaks all the time and I want to dye them with a more permanent, burgundy brown color for the winter. Does anyone know the best way to do this? It's bleached and then colored with Special Effects. Do I have to let it fade out to pink/blond before I color with regular drug store hair dye?

Thanks!

Pravana Color !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It won't ever fade out and its hard to bleach out like seriously.

I am a professional stylist and this is always what I use I hate manic panic and special effects and raw they all do not last.

Pravana is the way to go :D

Thanks for the advice. I need to think about if it's the maintenance that's bugging me or the color. It sounds like a good product. I see so many people in Boston now with intense color in their hair that I was wondering if there was a more permanent professional product.

Pravana is great!

I absolutely hate manic panic, but I find that special effects is decent. Ive been using pure red color enhancing clairol for awhile and that lasts about a month, but I dislike having the same color for more than a month. I get bored.

Pravana looks amazing!
1) do you know how well it works with unbleached hair?
2) is it sold at sallys or anything besides the actual salon? I always find with the amount of money I pay to get my hair dyed at a salon, I can do a comparable if  not better job by myself at home.

Never use bright colors on unbleached hair unless of course your hair is a level 8 or higher which basically you need to be blonde already.
Its sold at cosmoprof and Beauty Allience but these are professional only stores.

You can however buy them on ebay!
=]
why is it so bad to not bleach hair when dying? i use homemade lighteners, but thats it. i just recently went from dark purple to bright orange without any bleach and my hair is just as fried as the next.

aaaah I need help. I really want to cut my hair and I was thinking of something super short like this but I'm not entirely sure I can pull it off (plus, eh, gotta check with my girlfriend first I guess...)

my hair is currently really long for my standards, and just, all over the place. I look like a dead Beatle.

and this is how I would really like my hair :

You would look superfuckinghawt, but also rather a lot like my cousin Rozi. She's a very pretty girl, but it might make shagging you a little awkward for me.

Then again, I'm not that close to her. I'm sure I could get over it.

I texted my boyfriend "about to cut my hair.."
That way I was asking him without really asking him.
And if he stopped liking me for my hair cut than it was good to get that out of the way early.  :headbang:

I discussed this with the nice lady who cuts my hair, thinking it'd be something that varies from
one guy to the next....  She says guys are more consistently into "long hair" than "big boobz"...

Apparently I'm a pig who likes girls with longer hair. Oh well.... :dontknow:

^  No, exactly...  I mean, what some guy thinks should have no bearing on how you
wear your hair, unless you're interested in impressing that guy.  I'm sure any of
you (Sylvia or Mali or Róisín or anyone...) will look great with any hairstyle that you
feel comfortable in....
