I do not want to live to archive my own life.
I see it everywhere around me, especially with the popularity of web diaries, forums, and cell phones that take pictures.
I do not want to fall into the subtle trap of truly believing I Blog Therefore I Am.

Joy, I'm not a user on that site.

I did stream Hungry Lucy with them once...

I just skimmed through that - but it seems like a rumour more than anything. Like, there is absolutely no proof to show that it has been done, right? Seriously, if you are not an idiot there are other ways to find out who is listening to unreleased shit.

I am a user there but for some reason don't feel threatened.. if there was a statement released 100% saying it had been done, I'd probably go "o", but until then - meh.

For what it's worth, one of the last.fm staff members had this to say...

I'd like to issue a full and categorical denial of this. We've never had any request for such data by anyone, and if we did we wouldn't consent to it.

Of course we work with the major labels and provide them with broad statistics, as we would with any other label, but we'd never personally identify our users to a third party - that goes against everything we stand for.

As far as I'm concerned Techcrunch have made this whole story up

Thumbs up for critical thinking.
