Hell. Discuss the current governor of Louisiana. It's Mardi Gras after all...

He makes me very very frustrated to be South Asian American.

My roommate (who is watching him speak, in his words, so "I don't have to") says he sounds like Mr. Rogers.

(Don't look for any substance beyond basic GOP boilerplate.)

I saw his "response" to the President's address this evening, and I must say, "Governor Jindal,
you're no Barack Obama"
.  I realize the Republicans feel like they need a minority-candidate
for office, and it's not like they can let a black hold any really important position, but...  [yawn]

(I did like the bit in his speech where he basically said
Hey, I'm not racist partisan, I have a black Democratic friend...)

I understand being a little iffy about the government just giving away money, and hoping people spend it instead of save it.  Whatever, that's the Republican debate.  It won't go where it needs to go, and taxes go up to pay for that much borrowed money.

But.  It's money that is designed to create more jobs, and get people out of unemployment, get them making money, and back to spending money.  Then people aren't afraid to spend instead of save, and thus the economy revives itself.  Right?  I mean, that's how it works very basically, right?  *blinks*  Jobs are good, unemployed, broke people are not only bad, but unhappy (and won't reelect your ass again)?

It's a very straightforward partisan thing...

If Obama said the sun  rises in the East, the GOP would claim that such
an observation  is untested  pseudo-science, and further that using tax
money to do the necessary ressearch would be wasteful and inefficient,
so the best plan would be to assume that Obama is lying.

The Dems would do the same if their positions were reversed.  Dubya helped
in that he usually was lying, so the Dems didn't look like they were just being
contrary for the fun of it.

I think he is more of the same old. By his face, he seems to mean serious business. Too serious in fact.

I finally got around to watching the Jindal response, and just want to say, I like Sarah Palin more than Bobby Jindal.

He's speaking to the audience like it's a group of incompetents. He is entirely too over rehearsed, and his speaking is entirely unnatural. And it doesn't help that what he's saying is nothing but a history lesson. "Lol, America is great, and has done this this and this. Oh yeah, lol, let's empower the people." What does he mean empower the people? What does he expect us to do to turn around the economy? I really don't think there's much I can do, what about you guys? What can you do to improve the state of being right now. I mean, I'm stumped. I like how he likened the republicans to the everyday people, and democrats to the big bad government who isn't part of the people, haha.

Guys, remember, Bobby Jindal's dad said Americans can do anything. Oh my god he was so annoying. What a disaster.

It's like all that "birth certificate" bullshit.  ("What's he hiding?  Why won't he show us his real certificate..."  Uh, hello?  His real birth certificate is on file...)

If Jindal gets a response at all, it makes him seem important, and WHEN he gets no response,
he can tell the rest of the "Conservative" world that Obama's scared of him...

Its RUSH asking for the debate, he said that he would send "his plane" to fly Obama down to his FL studio.......

The guy is on ______ or doing crazy things for ratings, maybe both?

Same general idea...

One of 'em is the President, and the other one's a pill-poppin' fatass who only has to sound
clever for a couple hours a day, five days a week (while preaching to his own choir anyway).
