the other day i was reading her comments and noticed a girl saying how deeply disappointed she was in seeing there were only (apart from creep) 30 second previews of the songs on her myspace profile.
jesse says he can hear the full tracks, so, i guess this is just for europe/ outside the US?
is it on purpose?
i wouldn't be as dramatic at that girl in the comments, but, if i didn't know amanda and wanted to check her out on her myspace and only found 30 sec previews i'd be instantly turned off... plus, i can no longer pimp her songs on my profile and that sort of saddens me.
so yeah, i was wondering if anyone knows why etc...

I'm in the UK, and I'm only getting 30 seconds for the WKAP songs as well. I'm assuming it's for copyright reasons (just like I can't get any of hulu's content here), but I don't know for sure. I didn't notice it before, so I'm wondering if this is a recent change.
Then again, if I really wanted to find out if I liked an artist, I'd look around online some more, which is what this chick should do instead of whining about Myspace. Amanda has some of her videos embedded right on the Myspace page, and they're all on Youtube AND Vimeo in outstanding quality. I'm sure this wasn't Amanda's decision, but the point is, her music is still out there. If this chick took the time to bitch about it, she should've had the time to clicky-click her way to Youtube.

And if you're interested in the marketing side of it... I personally never bother to listen (to anyone) if its just previews. There's nothing there to capture you.

A thing like this happened to me recently when I was trying to rip 'Drive' off the Dirty Sanchez myspace, it turned out to be a 30 second clip...but then one of the members had the full thing on his profile

It may be a marketing thing yea, so that people don't rip the full tracks directly from myspace. Although if you are wanting the songs illegally, they are freely avaliable (not that I'm condoning it) so I don't see the need really.

i gotta say, as much as the 30 second clips thing annoys me it doesn't even remotely compare to the people shit-talking amanda under the presumption she's trying to "market" this and/or is trying to "get their money" or whatever the fuck they think

generally i don't worry about myspace songs because i buy and support the records i like
