Yaay for sock puppets!! I'll try to make some!

all those willing to make sock puppets for edinburgh confirm here....
all those wanting to hand out such puppets and take part in crowd entertainment also confirm here!

Can confirm on both counts.

How many sock puppets do you reckon we'll need?

umm how big is the venue... and how many people are going to be there?

The picture house is 1500 capacity I think.

oooh possibly not quite that many....well I will make as many As possible (10 pairs of socks equals 20 puppets)
so I am aiming towards the 100plus mark personally........but really as many as people think they can manage...the more effort by you guys, the more awesome this will become

Well I'm going to try and hit the hundred or so mark as well, I will make as many as I can afford to really, will have to see how many socks I can salvage from my house and then look into buying more and decorating them! Getting them over is a bit of a problem though as I will be flying and will only have one hold bag which will be pretty full from everything else so I may look into maybe sending them in the post to someone in Edinburgh and picking them up so I can do/bring more.

is there a sock puppet tutorial? i'm not really familiar with sock poppets.
since you kindly lent us your beautiful masks for paris, although you were not there, i'd love to contribute and make some puppets and ship them to you or anyone who's going to be at the fringe....

simply take a sock and invert the end to make a mouth..... this can be enhanced with the sewing of a circle of fabric...
stick or sew on eyes add any extras you wish! (hair etc is easy)

This is gonna the first time I've seen Amanda live, the only way I can think of celebrating this is with an army of sock puppets But could someone post a picture so I've got an idea of what to do? I mean, I can make them, but I don't want mine to stand out from the sock puppet crowd.

This is gonna the first time I've seen Amanda live, the only way I can think of celebrating this is with an army of sock puppets But could someone post a picture so I've got an idea of what to do? I mean, I can make them, but I don't want mine to stand out from the sock puppet crowd.

I personally wouldn't worry about it, the more different ones the better! I am going to try and make some ones inspired by the songs of amanda and the dolls (deer (have to drive), Sheep (the sheep song) etc etc) and will mix up the plainer ones I make. The more inspired and colourful I think, the better. It will make it even more of a visual treat in the crowd.

That is a really good idea! Hmm... I wonder if I could do some based on the wkap photos... Little wire-mesh shopping trolley over the top of one, cover 'em in ketchup? Lol, maybe not, but I might give it a try xD
