New Avatar Month
« on: June 29, 2009, 11:08:16 AM »

Starting today, and continuing throughout July, I'll be changing my avatar every day and posting the picture its taken from up in full here (usually with a deviantart link I expect, as most of them come from there). Basically, an oppertunity for people to see lots of pictures throughout the coming month. Anyone else is, of course, highly welcome to controbute themselves as well.

Today is this:

sorry but unless it was created by you we really do not give a damn....
you could provide  a link to deviantartists you admire as a seperate thread though

I beg to differ.  Interesting art is interesting.  (Were it Alyss' own work, it would go in SSP anyway.)

you could provide  a link to deviantartists you admire as a seperate thread though
Linking to them would seem an excellent idea to me.

Wait....

There are bad days at a toy store?  I may as well just go jump off a bridge...  It's all meaningless now.

My sympathies... although...

Let's see, 30C = 86F...   You've just described every day from now to the middle of September here
(except for the ones that are hotter).  Upside: we're used to it, and the A/C usually works.

...and if I could work in a toy store, I would endure, nay enjoy having screaming kids around.

The foot?  Well that just sucks.   People who aren't currently going through it never appreciate how
debilitating a sore foot is.  Consult a leech or sawbones as needed, don't put it off.

I like this idea. I like changing avatars too, but I'm not sure I'd have the follow-through to do it daily for a month. I'll be watching this though.

I used to work in the toy department of a shop in Oxford. I got paid £3.66 an hour and it bored the shit out of me.

The visual people would forget who was who... then again perhaps the visual people don't realize I exist because I haven't even GOT an avatar yet. Perhaps July will indeed be New Avatar Month.

The JJB effect is less pronounced when the entire figure is visible, creating more of an
Anubis impression.

Either way, it is a pretty impressibe bit of paper-sculpture.

naw... face is shaped all wrong to be he who shall not be named.

If it was a bit more cruel looking it could be Anubis.  I think it is impressive to be sure.

Clearly it's a far better drawing than I could ever do, but why the heck did she have to add a
ray of bright light shining down from an angle that contradicts every shadow in the picture?

Maybe it's the MotherShip coming to abduct the girl...    :dontknow:

As a matter of fact... yes!  But it's not so much an abduction because she knows it's there and is walking towards it... maybe she is going to see her girlfriend who is an alien?

They're lean, but they're strong too. Which isn't me. And they aren't antisocial with other gnolls of their tribe...very militant, religious and driven. Again, not me.

Damn, Cee. You tried so hard, but superior geek knowledge has triumphed in my favour.

They're lean, but they're strong too. Which isn't me. And they aren't antisocial with other gnolls of their tribe...very militant, religious and driven. Again, not me.

Damn, Cee. You tried so hard, but superior geek knowledge has triumphed in my favour.
Luckily you didn't pick Kobold. Rofl.

September seems to have become "finally has a damn avatar" month for me ;) It's me lounging on a boat. I don't often lounge on boats, but it was blissful that one time it did happen.
