i have recently discovered the joy and relief that accompanies strong black tea with a generous teaspoonful of honey and a little dash of water, to cool it slightly.

If you add a little slice of lemon, it does not taste like tea anymore but it becomes a quite heavenly drink. Also lemon+honey+water+peppermint is yummy.

facebook is like the worst book I've ever read. the characters do not evolve one bit and the plot is going nowhere.

This is the best stuff to use. Tea leaves are for suckers. Instant is what nature should have made tea to begin with.

Heresy.... (but not as bad as the tea-zealots would have you believe).

I've used feathers AS paintbrushes. Works wonderfully with watercolors.

Trufact:  One of the highlights on the tour of the White House of the Confederacy is the
marble mantelpiece in President Davis' library....

...the one that's actually cast-iron painted with sponges and turkey feathers...

You have to see it in person to really appreciate the effect.

Sure, but painted with turkey feathers?

(This whole house is full of trompe l'oeil and faux finishes and other things described with
French terms, such as were fashionable in the 19th century.... Indeed, the various illusions,
literally from floor to ceiling, are a featured part of the tour.)
