I just saw the new movie and didn't understand why there wasn't a Harry Potter discussion thread;

EDIT:
i realize that there is, thank you mr. search bar, HOWEVER, it hasn't been posted on in approx. two years  so i thought it was best to start a new one.


so..
how did anyone like the new film?
who reads the books?

New film was amazing.
I love the extra Bellatrix. Only bad thing about that book was the lack of her, IMO.

The books are my favourite ones ever, because they're the first thing I ever read, and are therefore the reason that all three of my cupboards are full of books.
Favourite is Half Blood Prince, least is... probably joint between the first two.
I can't bring myself to read them these days :(

I used to enjoy reading the books when I was like... twelve. The last book was pure crap. I stopped reading it about halfway through.

hermione needs to get laid
the only saving grace in those films are the adult cast, rickman for starters, then oldman, and Bonham-Carter.~

but im still going to take Audrey to see the new one...  ;D

Movie was missing a lot of the book.
The scene in the cave was spectacular, graphically, but there was no apparent dilemma in making Dumbledore drink the potion.
The Action was focused on more than the underlying emotions, which is where a lot of the story got lost.

And I still think Ginny Weasley is a dirty whore.

There were a lot of things left out, and circumstances were changed around.
And many things weren't explored.
I didn't like it.

And it said "Borgin and Burke" instead of "Borgin and Burkes".

I agree with Haushinka.

yeah, they did change a lot and left a lot out... the first 15 minutes i was fuming... but i got over it.

i <3 alan rickman with a fiery passion, so i was overall really happy... but i wish they would have had more of him in it.
in the end, i didn't cry so much when dumbledore died, but i SOBBED like a baby when snape said "how dare you use my own spell against me? i AM the half-blood prince!"  (sorry, don't want to spoil for anyone)

give the man an oscar!! ;)

now really looking forward to the last two installments... i'm torn about the last book being made into two movies.. but... whatever.

PS: since the beginning, i've (obviously) been on snape's side, so coincidentally also with a lot of the "evil" side. except... malfoy was a fucking twat in this movie.

I have to not compare the movies and the books, otherwise I get lost in the details they leave out.

I allow the books and movies to stand for themselves as separate things.

that's so funny because at one point when he is talking with harry, i leaned over to my friend and said (rather loudly), "HE LOOKS JUST LIKE GANDOLF!!" lol

then, during the part where all the wizards held up their wands @ dumbledore's vigil thing, everyone in the theater/theatre with a wand held it up
